Target, How Do I Love Thee?

Let me count the ways.

ONE:  Merona Classic Trench Coat in Red.  Cause I've returned every red trench I've bought but Target ALWAYS knocks them out of the park. 

TWO:  Merona Houndstooth Scarf.  It was sold out in a $15 version and then this $10 one popped up.  SOLD.  How cute will it be with my red coat?!

THREE:  Leopard Ponte Pants.  I will never have the thighs for patterned pants but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try them, right?  For blogging purposes? 

FOUR:  Red Colorblock Sweater Dress.  I'm generally iffy on sweater-dresses but I just love this.  Plus you all say red is my color now, excuse me while I rock the crap out of it. 

FIVE:  Um, I'm sorry but this Leopard Trench is $10 off right now.  And... LEOPARD.  Recognize.  The only thing is that the print is a bit dark... BUT, that will hide dirt better than my three year old trench that I have worn the crap out of.

SIX: Except then if I get the leopard I probably should not get the Pink Paisley Trench.  Although I do have a much lighter-weight leopard one... that's ready to bite the dust.  So, both?  #shopaholicproblems

SEVEN:  And last but not least... one of the holy grail items that I got from Target last year.  Please please don't buy it before I get a couple home cause... I wore this so hard Mr. RH thought I accidentally forgot that I have 2 closets and 1.5 dressers full of clothes.  So, that was weird.  I have it in gray and it sold out in EVERYTHING within a week.  I'm getting the purple-y color.  And maybe 2 more.  Cowl Neck Pullover Tunic.  I die.

I could keep going but there is $400 in my Target cart right now and I'm 50% sure I'm going to buy all of it.  Although I really only need 1 new trench.  But they're sold out locally so maybe I'll order 2 and return 1... as a public service to my fellow shoppers.  Gosh, I'm an American hero.

Confessions from an Online Shopaholic

Since around Christmas, I have been trying SO HARD to keep my shopping at bay, both online and in person.  Fortunately (or unfortunately), Melissa notified me on twitter that Target was having an awesome 25% off sale online only one night. 

My strong no-shopping resolve?  Disappeared almost instantly.

I had been dying to get this red trench that came and went from my local  Target almost instantly, and 25% off made it too awesome to resist.

 

Unfortunately, it didn't fit.  It was SOO tight in the shoulders and chest.  And the material seems to be just a little bit cheaper than I remembered.  SOOOO SAD.

Next up, I apparently got high on shopping and ordered the hideous ruffle wrap dress. The pattern is just hideous.  

Fortunately, I had luck with the Cap Sleeve Ruffle Dress.  This is that nice, thick spandexy material that never wrinkles and never looks bad even if you wash it a hundred times.  Unfortunately, it's also not a very breathable material so you may have stinky armpits.  

I love love the pink and the blue.  I bought the yellow cause Mr. RH loves a good yellow - but, unfortunately, it's completely see-through.  Pink or blue... do I need both?  Pink is more unique to my wardrobe... plus, I could style it like this, below: 

I see a new summer uniform!  Minus the weird shoes.  I was having shoe issues this day.  Get over it.

Turns out, this dress also comes in long.  And I'm kinda obsessed!

I can't decide if the pink is good or not, it just seems... hugely pink.  Which I love, but it's a little scary.  I think I might only have to keep the black one?  Thoughts??

 I am obsessed with anything nautical... so obviously I love this black and white striped maxi dress.  

 Part of me is really bothered about the little stripe under the bustline.  It gets a little wonky.  So I threw on the belt... and it still looks wonky.

It's also a size bigger than I normally wear... but damn, that dress is so ridiculously comfy.  Thoughts?

I ordered some swimsuits, but I'm feeling like it's a little too much to post them these days.  I guess a lot has changed in 2 years?  It feels a little disrespectful, to me, to post pictures of my hot rack when I think of Mr. RH.  On one hand, he would tell me to post whatever I feel comfortable with.  Which, on the other hand, would make me 200% less likely to post them.

I know, my life is hard.  

I also ordered some bras that twitter raved about (review to come!) and running capris.  Because, you now, the last time I run was in August.  And any day now I might just take off out my front door and run.

I know, I have issues.

Last but not least, 20 Target items was not enough for one day, so I had to order these comfy tees from Express.

I can wear them at work... so obviously comfort + cuteness = best day ever.

The one on the left looks red, which is sad because I ordered it as pink.  Don't care, I love it.  I have a black one too but it doesn't really photograph.

Soo.  I lost a little control with my credit card.

And I'm a little embarrassed to drag my 20 items (ok, probably only returning 12?) back to Target and return them at the local mall (where I work, so I know everyone).

Return shame, I has it.

Hi Target. I Love You.

Dear Target,

It's been too long. Far too long.

Back in the days of funemployment, I spent hours and hours perusing your racks for little treasures. These days, I gotta get in and get out and it's been very stressful on our relationship.

But yesterday, I made time for you before work. Priorities.
First up, the Mossimo Black Ruffle Tank. Love. Love the long length, the smooth jersey fabric. I'll take one in pink and cobalt blue, please.

Next up, a question for Target. Why, in the name of all that is holy, are you cardigans so SHORT and WIDE? Your tanks are long and lean... but any cardigan you sell is made to fit on a cardboard box. Which I am not.

(For some reason, I want to exclaim "BOO YOU WHORE" right here... but that seems unnecessarily rude.)

(Couldn't find the link for this one... but it's ok cause it fits me like a man.)

Next up.... the Racerback Bib Top. Which has loads of potential.

Until it's on me.

First off, those pointy boob... things? Are not my boobs. At all. Promise. And also... it's wide. Really wide.

Just say no. If you have my body type, that is.

And last but not least... a skirt.

Because holy cow it's 80 degrees here right now. (Ok, not right now... but later today it will be.)

First off, the way my shirt is tucked in makes me have a weird beer gut... yeah.
And this is a medium because there were no smalls... so potentially it was just too loose on me.

But I'm kinda indifferent. But it WOULD be fun to have some springy skirts in my wardrobe.

Obsession... is it REALLY a Problem?

Just a few Sunday tidbits that apparently I can't keep to myself.

Number 1: I don't care what anybody says, but Party in the USA is basically an awesome song. I don't care if Miley can't sing and is a hoochie-mama... "So I put my hands up, they're playin' my song..."

Number 2: I enjoy old Grey's Anatomy episodes to an unhealthy degree. Seriously, I think I've seen almost the entire series at least 3 times. There is always a Grey's disc in my DVD player.

Number 3: It is so foggy here in Indiana that a 10 minute drive took me almost 30 at midnight last night. And I may have been so disoriented by not being able to see houses and landmarks in this rural area that I almost missed a turn onto a highway. Literally, I didn't know if it was the highway or a random crossroad that I'd never noticed before. Usually there's a big barn on the right side of the road but I couldn't see it - hence my confusion.

Number 4: I love Target. And I found some cute stuff that I need opinions on. Haven't purchased any yet but am heading to Target at 2:30 PM EST for a girl date. Please advise.

First up, the Mossimo Black Womens Cascade Ruffle Top.
Yes, I realize it's sheer. (Like my bra?) I don't own any tops like this and really have no clue how I'm supposed to wear this (although I know it will def be with a cami). But it's on clearance for $5ish dollars and I like the color.

Next up: Merona Ebony Floral Skirt. On clearance for I believe $4.24. There were some not marked down but this one was.
It was $4 and black and white (my fav color combo), so I tried it on. Has a built-in slimmer under the skirt, although I could cut that out. Super comfy jersey fabric, looks like it would wash and wear very easily.

The last item I had questions about was a Liz Lange Maternity dress - $6 . Solid black jersey faux-wrap dress. I think it was $6 and it was adorable. Have been contemplating the weirdness of buying a maternity item when obviously not expecting all day.

And these last few items were semi-new arrivals that I'm debating but won't buy today. My theory on Target clothes is that everything goes on sale about once every 5 weeks. Seriously, you just have to wait and run the risk that some other person buys it in your size. So I'll definitely wait for a sale since I'm always at Target and can buy them another day. Or hopefully talk myself out of them cause I really don't need them.

Xhilaration Sleeveless Reversible Dress, $19.99 I like the pattern on the left (it's basically vertical lines of dots) but this dress hits several inches above my knee. Damn my height! (All 5' 7.5" of it!)


Next up, the Mossimo Supply Co. Sleeveless Dress in Oxford Blue, $19.99. Due to my long waist and the short length of this dress, it's probably a no-go with this dress. If they made this in a skirt, which I could size up in and wear it low low low to make it longer - I'd be sold.
It comes in a similar coral skirt and it's really freakin adorable.

This next one goes on sale all the time but I never paid attention to it until today. I have been SO missing out. Merona Fit Solutions Ruched Dress, $29.99. This one's black, but it also comes in brown (which is not my color, but it might be yours).
Underneath this dress is a body slimmer that runs from the bust to mid thigh. Basically, it's just a tube inside of the dress that you squeeze into. It felt tight as I was wriggling into it but once I had it on it was oh-so-comfy. And I felt oh-so-skinny in it. There's a reason it got 5 Stars in the 6 reviews on the Target website. The material it's made out of is silky and (as long as you don't put it in the dryer) I have a feeling this dress would last forever. Definitely buying this one, 100%.

And now I just have one rant. Target, I love your marketing. Love your colors and such. But you know what I hate. I hate that I walked in about 3 weeks ago and saw this new marketing:
And that dress will, I am 97% certain, never be available at my local store. And I'm gonna be FORCED to drive 45 miles and waste a whole afternoon to find out if the dress even fits me.

ANNOYING!

There, now I got all my Target obsessions off of my chest. Tell me if the clearance items are yes or no goes - by 3 PM EST if possible, so I can hopefully snatch them up today. Gosh, you all are so helpful.

Crap, am I a shopaholic? Don't answer that.

Yet ANOTHER Reason to Love Target

I know this officially counts as spamming you for posting multiple times in one day... but I absolutely HAD to show you this commercial by Target.

I just saw it for the first time last night... and I frantically hit YouTube looking for it.. but of course I couldn't find it.

So I just filmed it with my camera off of my TV (yea, I'm aware that there's some magic way to get video off a DVR... but do I look like Einstein here people?)... just to show you the BEST. Target. Commercial. Ever.

I Have a Shopping Problem

First, I just wanted to make sure to update everyone on my quest for the perfect t-shirt. It's been a long, tough journey.

In fact, some of the stores didn't even have long-sleeved t-shirts. (Have I mentioned that the city I live in has NO good shopping?)

Either way, I finally listened to Catie, Jac, Kassie, Ms. Minneapolis, Mrs. Newlywed, and Melissa and went to Target (it's not like I wasn't going there anyways!).

And I FINALLY found some dang long-sleeved t-shirts.

I got the aqua and gray because the white was just beyond see-through.

They're on sale for $7 each this week so at that price I feel like I might have to go back and get the black and maybe even the white, for layering.

Wow, I know that you are absolutely glued to your computer and this is the best post you've read today, right? Right.

I just love the color of the pair on the right - so gorgeous! AND the lady who runs the shop is a-mazing. She changed the yellow pair from posts to hooks just for me and shipped them the next day.

I'm also loving the Indian-inspired earrings from Billie's Blue Boutique.
