I'm So Vain. About My Feet.

As you might know if you've been around here very long, I like me some shoes.

Not expensive shoes, not anything special shoes... I just like shoes. I think it's written into my girl DNA. Or something.

Anyhow, these days I rarely wear cute shoes. Because I'm on my feet all day long... I just don't. I'm embarrassed to admit the ugly-ness of the shoes I wear at work. So I won't.

For most of my "adult" life, I've been a size 7.5. For this tallish girl, I've always thought that a 7.5 shoe was very dainty.

Friends and acquaintances always said my feet were proportionally small - and I liked it. Small feet felt very tiny and nice.

Fast forward to today.

I don't know if it's weight gain or old age or what... but my feet have grown. I think.

All I know is that my 7.5's fit... but any time I buy 7.5's in a store - they feel too small.

Weep.

Am I the only one who wishes companies would offer vanity sizing for shoes? I mean... I'll pay you to turn the "8" into a "7.5."

Dude, am I the only one with a greater attachment to my shoe size than my bra size?

Cause gosh I love me to talk about some boobs too.

But that's another post for another day.

Have a very happy Earth Day!!

Yea, I'm with you on this. I have big feet and it seems like my ranges can be from 8.5-10 in stores. It kills me. Can't they just stay consistent!?

Mine shrank from an 8 to a 7.5... and it happened when I stopped working out. Further proof that gyms are evil.

Try wearing a size 12...there's nothing dainty about my feet! I guess you need a good foundation when you're 6 feet tall, but I wish my feet were a little easier to shop for!

The same thing happened to me! All of a sudden I had to start buying a bigger size...but my old shoes still fit. Maybe it is a conspiracy against us!

I just found your blog and I think it's adorable! :)

I have fluctuating feet, apparently. I've been an 8.5 for years, in running shoes and street shoes. I still wear an 8.5 running shoe, but now I mostly need a 9 street shoe. Unless I buy shoes online, in which case I frequently end up in an 8! It's really weird. And leads to a lot of returned shoes!

I have developed a bit of a complex when it comes to shoe size. Right now I wear a 9.5 or 10. BUT, when my mom was pregnant her feet grew and never shrank back. I do not want to have to wear a shoe size larger than a 10! I know stores are starting to carry bigger sizes but I just don't want to have to go there. Most women are worried about how large their bellies will get when they're prego. Not me. I'm worried about my feet!

My size totally depends on the shoe. I'm tallish as well and wear a 7.5 or 8 also. I'm always shocked when I meet a shorter woman with a size 10 foot. Seems weird to me. Hope that's not rude...

My feet shrunk! But no worries, a size 8 is not bad! Most of my girlfriends have size 9 or 10 feet-imagine that!

I hear ya! I go between a size 7-7.5 to an 8 sometimes. Ugh..

I'm totally feeling you, girl! I've been a size 7.5 since I was 13 years old but suddenly in the last six months every 7.5 I try on is too small! I think they are messing with the sizes and not in a good way! 8 just seems to cross some invisible Big Foot line!

my feet have grown steadily from a 5.5-6.5 over the past five or so years but i'm consistently a 6.5 these days.

Those shoes btw? Adorable do share where you got them!!

My shoe size is still the same, I wear 5,5 and sometimes it's so hard for me to get shoes. They usually start having them in 6 and up :(

My feet have gotten smaller as I age. Not in length, but in width and general fatness.

Oh, are your feet swelling? It happens when you're on your feet a lot on terrible flooring like you are.

it might be swelling from being on your feet all day... that happened to me when I was at my old job :)

And no, you're not the only one LOL

I wear a 6.5 (but I have wide feet) so I delight in the fact that I can buy KIDS shoes sometimes LOL and when they don't fit, I freak out too!
