Going to the Gap

I know there have been two things missing on the old blog lately:  headless pictures of me and shopping posts.

Luckily for you - today I've got both!

A couple of weeks ago, I realized my non-work wardrobe was critically lacking... and of course, a quick 40% off sale at Gap was sure to remedy it.

So what did I get?  Excellent question.

I got the Cable cowl scarf in two different colors.  The red wasn't all I was hoping for, so I just kept the black and white.

I got the striped waffle cowl scarf, but I just wasn't feeling it.  I know makeup would end up all over the white part!

I got a supersoft striped crew and I really just didn't like the way it fit.  If only it were longer!

And last but not least - the supersoft tunic.  I love this top, but it looked like pajamas to me.  Maybe if it were in a darker color.  And didn't do such weird things to my rack.

I really, really have issues with the fit of Gap these days.  The small talls fit ok, but they end up stretching out and being just a bit too loose for comfort.  If they had an XS tall (which sounds ridiculous to my ears!), I think it would just be the perfect fit.  Regular length in tops is just too short, story of my dang life!

Old Navy has XS talls, but I just can't get over the crappy quality.

Anybody have a favorite go-to place for basics?  Cause I have struck out big time and my wardrobe is so SO sad.

Help me, I'm poor and have no clothes.

I have the same issue with clothes being too short (hello I'm TALL 5'10 with a long torso). I like banana republic and express for length on basics like tanks, basic shirts and I can normally find a good sale.

The Gap has had some great deals lately and I have been able to get a bunch of dresses for work, however I also agree with the fit. I tried on a pair of black pants this weekend at the Gap and they were basically capris on me!

I'm in between sizes at the Gap too. Mediums are too short on me and I'm swimming in the large sizes.

I love the Gap. LOVE. THE. GAP. Is that cliché of me? I so don't even care. I literally buy ALL of my jeans there because it's the only place that actually fits me right without any tailoring. I'm now also a small in a lot of things there, so, really Gap is there for my own vanity. But being in between sizes anywhere sucks, as does the lack of consistency.

As for where I get a lot of work clothes, my other go-to is New York and Company. Everything is ALWAYS on sale there.

I have no suggestions for where you should shop because I have the exact opposite problem. Everything at the Gap has always been too long for me -- shirt sleeves, pants, everything.

I love the first look!

I'm still heartbroken that our Gap closed. If they'd ever gotten GapFit stuff in it, I would have spent a lot of money there!

Have you tried like twice.com

I get most of my name brands from there now!
