The Classy Bookshelf

Ever since I figured out how to check out library books to my kindle... fools, I have been a reading machine!!  Last night, in fact, I was up till almost midnight (hey, that's late here!) and texted Mr. RH in a moment of... umm, adrenaline-fueled hilarity (that's a stretch) to tell him that I was, and I quote, "a wild girl."  Cause I was up late in bed reading.

EXCITING TIMES, people.

So, I've been on a reading binge.  Something about the warm days and the sunshine has me wanting to curl up and plow through a good book.

One of the first things I read this year was Sisterhood Everlasting, the last book in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series.

It's not quite exactly what you'd expect from the Pants series... but I loved this book.  It was a lot more emotional than I expected... but in the end, I loved it.  Took me a hot minute to get there, though.  It just very different.

Next up was Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, which I believe was recommended by somebody... couldn't tell you who though.
This book was not at ALL what I expected... but  yet again, couldn't put it down.  I believe it's classified as young adult... which, again, love.  Although if you had asked me 3 years ago if I was into young adult books I probably would have said no.

Go figure.

Last but not least (for today) is The Lost Summer by Kathryn Williams.

It's about a couple of middle-school aged girls at summer camp... and I just loved the story.  The innocence of camp and the pains of growing up... ohh, just such a great read - in my opinion.

Soo... there's your peek into my reading list today.  What are YOU reading??

I'm just finishing up a batch of books right now, I need suggestions.

Happy Tuesday!

I just finished the Hunger Games series. Loved them! Had them read in about 5 days. Just started reading Sophie Kinsella's new book "I've Got Your Number" this morning. I love her stuff!

Going to see if I can find any of those books...they sound great. I just finished Dear John and The Lucky One...cried way too many times in Dear John! Just started to read a secret kept, by the same author who wrote Sarah's Key. I'd recommend that book if you haven't read it yet!

I'm sorry to say I was a little disappointed with Sisterhood Everlasting! I cried throughout and was very emotional about the whole thing, but in the end I felt... disappointed. :( Still, I love that series!

The best book I've read recently was Bridge of Scarlet Leaves by Kristina McMorris. It's historical fiction set in WWII with an awesome love story, and it's very easy to read and memorable! Some other fun, light ones include How To Eat A Cupcake by Meg Donohue and What Came First by Carol Snow. Snow's stories are awesome!

I love Elin Hilderbrand's books. They take place around Nantucket. I haven't read one yet that I haven't tremendously enjoyed.

I need to figure out how to work our library's ebook stuff. I feel like they don't have a lot of options, but I need to just go ask how it works. :-)
