On the Last Weekend in March

Oh hey, nothing like recapping the weekend on a Thursday, right?

Oh well. I've been busy.

So this past weekend, on Friday, I went back to school. Back to an event I love - an event that defined me for the past 4 years of my life.

It was so weird, so bittersweet to be back. The event was happening - actually in progress - but just like that, in the span of a year, my role was gone. I wasn't needed anymore. It was weird but satisfying to be back. It almost felt like I was giving birth to a five-year-old, seeing as this was the event's fifth year.

(Picture of me with the event's founders, two of my best friends. And my 3 large banners in the background.)

So we went to the event and stayed there until about midnight... at which point we thought it seemed like fun to go to a bar. Where I felt like an old lady.
And then a few of us went back to our hotel at around 3 am for a few hours of shut eye. Because we were getting up at 6 am to attend the end of our beloved event.

Cue 3 hours later... rise and shine!

Don't worry - I have no pictures of myself during this time. That would be cruel and unusual punishment.

But watching this event end, for the first time without me.... it was just crazy. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
And then I hopped into our hotel for a quick shower before I got on the road to get back home.

I got home, unpacked and repacked my car, and was off for my friend's formal. To party it up with a bunch of law students.

On 3 hours of sleep, I managed to transform myself quite well if I must say so myself.
Unfortunately, my date was a dud. He was just strange and you know it's bad when I don't even both taking a picture. Sorry kids.

Suffice it to say that I ended up spending most of the night with my friends (and their dates) but I couldn't have been happier about it.

And... somewhere around 3 am, I finally got to crash.

It didn't take a genius to remind me that my body is no longer 21... I'm an old lady of 23 these days.

So if you can see the bags under my eyes even today, four days later... you know why.

Happy Thursday!!

Haha, I know how you feel. I've learned recently that 23 is just not quite the same as 21, it takes to drinking and staying up a bit differently. =)

Hey I'm Shelby and caught your blog from Kelly Marie @ Confessions of a law school dropout!

I completely agree once you graduate and start edging towards your mid twenties partying all weekend definitely takes longer to recover from haha!

Great blog!

I did Dance Marathon when I was in college too at BGSU. (Although I am 30 now so that was a while ago!) it was an amazing event that changed my life too!

Wait - I thought you said you had a mini crush on someone? I'm guessing it wasn't your date?

Sorry your date was a dud. But you should've known better - people who go to law school are odd! ;)
