TGIF!!

Kids, it’s finally Friday. Which is both happy and sad for me. I can feel my funemployment days coming to a close and that saddens me… but on the other hand I don’t start till the 15th so one more week of fun for me!

Just a couple of notes.

  • The magic yoga pants were in a laundry basket full of old sweatshirts under my bed. I’m an idiot, I know.
  • The ring is still missing. I prayed to the patron saint of lost items but still no ring. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted.
  • Thank you for all the sweet comments this week. I’m waay behind on replying to them, but that’s life I suppose.

So today I was all excited to post about my new foray into nail polish. And then I was reading over at Sweet Simplicity and she totally scooped my new find – Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure! Oh well!

I have mentioned here before that I really only enjoy reds and pinks. I’m a traditional girl like that.

But something crazy came over me this week and I had to have a gray/taupe/purple color. Had to have it!

Enter Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Commander in Chic. Nails 005It’s got a little pinky tone to it as opposed to being a straight-up gray color (which makes people look like corpses, in my opinion).

I really need a 3rd coat to make this look complete, but I’m excited with the results. I feel so fashionable. Clearly, I don’t get out much.

Nails 008 Am I the only one who’s afraid to rock “different” nail polish colors?

As in, I only wear red and pinks. Until today.

What’s your favorite nail polish color?

(Mine’s OPI Dutch Tulips, a perfect pink.)

Happy Friday!!

You should try OPI by Sephora - Brunette on the Internet. LOVE IT. Or, Sally Hanson's Cocktail Party with two coats on.

I'm going to have to try the OPI Dutch Tulips, I lovee pinks and the occasional deep purple. I am also afraid of trying different colors, but you rock that gray/purple!!

I have been wearing a very dark polish color all winter that my hairdresser recommended to me. I cannot remember the brand or color, but when I put on the first coat it looks like black with red glitter in it. The second coat makes it look like a very dark black with read tones. I LOVE it! I am totally blanking on the brand name.

I just polished my nails the other night with a dark red OPI color and it is so reddish. I am not used to wearing read because I have been doing black so much lately.

I do love pink in the Spring/Summer. I have some fave colors, but don't remember them at the moment.

I have to say that I have been rocking the dark darks and loving them.

Have a great weekend Sarah!

I ALMOST got Commander in Chic but bought the Rimmel Steel Grey instead (wrote about this in a previous post). That's about as "edgy" as I'll get. Trendy colors look great on other people, but I prefer neutrals on my tips and reds/vamps on my toes.

Your nails look great! Glad you found your yoga pants, I "lose" things all the time that end up being right under my nose.

Love the color.

I used to be obsessed with corals - I always did corals.

Then I got into pink.

Now I love it all. But my favorites are the Lincoln Park After Dark colors and this OPI metallic grey called "New Pair of Skates." I just love it.

Oh I like that color a lot! Actually I have banned myself from buying anymore nail polish because I have so much of it. I love OPI and Essie. I like wearing navy and gunmetal gray polish for some reason-until my mom says "gosh Becky are you going goth or something???" NO! That is the style...duh!

I am usually not very adventurous in my polish colors either...though sometimes the manicurist talks me into some crazy new OPI color. I usually love it, but I'd never pick it out myself!

I actually really like that color :)

As with handbags, I'm afraid to venture out of the safe zone and paint my nails any other color than something in the pink family. Usually I just have a clear coat on them. So boring I know!!

Oh my God! Dutch Tulips is my FAVE too. My best friend, who happens to be my manicurist always asks "Dutch Tulips or slutty red nail polish today?"

I love me some slutty red nail polish.

Have you tried gray? I bought Metro Chic (i think that's what it's called) by OPI at Sephora a few weeks ago and I love it.

Did you like that polish?? I loved it. I might need to get that color.

I'm new to your blog.

And I am like you. I'm afraid to step outside my box when it comes to nail color. I just bought black this year.

I only paint my toenails - because my fingernails are that hideous.

Love the new color. I am a pink and red gal myself but this fall I became addicted to purple. My favorite nail polishes are Salley Hansons 60 seconds line. I keep my nails painted most of the time but I do not have the patience to be still long enough for them to dry completly before I mess them up. These nail polishes are totally dry in less than a minute.

I'm a nerd about nail polish too. I like pinks.

Pretty color! I've started getting weekly manicures (um because I legit can't paint my own nails) and I found ONE color I like, and I seriously won't change now. I need to try other colors, but I'm in love with this!

I'm so in love with that color, but I'm also totally addicted to anything by essie, especially any of their dark purples.

I like that color.

I'm all about trying different colors. Lately all I've been wearing are really deep dark purples. I tend to prefer the trendy shades...or neutrals.

I am loving that nail color! I'll have to try that. I'm really into reds and pinks too. All winter I've been loving No Spain no Gain by OPI.

Ooooo, I love it! I wish I could wear nail polish better...unfortunately, I have this urge to chew/chip the nail polish off the moment it's on, LOL.

I'm a bit of an OPI addict myself. Cajun Shrimp for the warmer months, I'm Not Really a Waitress for the cooler months. Nothing too out there for me either. ;)

I need some new nail polish. I'm not loving my colors. I do have a coupon for OPI...

I don't remember if I've told you this, but congrats on the job!!!

I like that color. I used to wear nail polish.. any shade of pink was a favorite... now I'm pretty boring and haven't worn any in a long time. 1) It chips too easily and 2) It seems like it literally takes an hour to dry no matter how fast it claims on the bottle!

I think it's sucha sexy color for a nail polish, and unusual..in a good way!

I'm so glad you found your yoga pants. I will pray for the ring to come up asap. I lost the necklace JD gave me at our rehearsal dinner (yea, it was Tiffany & Co. and it had diamonds in it....) I STILL pray to this day I will find it somewhere, somehow.

And I am loving that polish on you! It reminds me of my OPI "Over the Taupe" which is one of my current faves!

Loving the new color - perhaps I should be a bit more adventurous. For the past four years the only colors I have put on my finger nails are a bright dark pink, a bright bright orange and a nice red coral color. All OPI. but I can't bring myself to break out of that box!
I also rarely paint my fingernails because I cannot stand when they chip.
xx Sara
