Just Keep Swimming

First off, let me say that the sleep gods have cursed me AGAIN. Anybody want to wake up at 5:15 for absolutely no reason? Yeah, me either!

----------------------------------------

I spent my whole day yesterday under a pile of clothes. Have I mentioned that closet organizing is NOT FUN? Cause it's not.

I have decided that my summer clothes shall be rotated out of my closet into a tall laundry hamper/basket I bought yesterday. I liked the idea of space saver bags and bins, but I still occasionally wear some of these tops so I want to be able to get in there if I want to. Maybe I'll take a pics of the other shelves and stuff I've got going in my closet... but not today. I've still got a lot of work to do!

----------------------------------------

Have you guys started your Christmas shopping yet? Even though it's only November 12th, it starting to freak me out.

Since my mom died, I have done all the shopping for our family - which I love. What freaks me out is that I have a pretty huge extended family. I need lots of ideas for lots of people.

So what I want to know is this - do you make a detailed list of the items you are looking for for each person? Or do you just head to the stores and keep a certain person in mind?

Have you even started shopping yet? Spill it sisters, I need tips!

Have a fabulous Thursday everyone!

I've thought about what to get people for Christmas and have a list on my Blackberry. I get random thoughts at random times and think, "Incredible gift idea for Person X!!!" and put it in my blackberry. Seriously, that's literally the process! :)

On the shopping front, I am thinking of waiting until Cyber Monday to shop my little tushy off!

I do a little bit of both for Xmas shopping...some I have in mind already, some I just find when I'm randomly out!

I am a big fan of online shopping and gift cards for family.

My husbands gifts I start early and have a plan.

Your closet re-organization sounds fabulous!

I finished shopping already. I make lists of what to get. Especially for my son. I start in early August making lists and shopping. It gives you plenty of time to plan the perfect gifts, especially if you need to special order something.

And it's always a great idea to keep gift cards handy. You never know what will happen, like getting an unexpected gift from someone or not being able to find everything you want for a family member. And if you end up not needing them, save them for birthdays, who doesn't love free money?

Happy Shopping

I definitely make lists with ideas, but I don't always stick to them. But it's helpful to have some guide once I hit the mall.

I also love online shopping. Both for purchasing gifts and for finding inspiration & ideas, which I then take with me to the stores. Particularly for people who live far away, it can be so much easier to find them a gift online and have it wrapped and shipped than buying it, wrapping and paying to ship it yourself.

I think Etsy is a great resource for gifts. Because there are so many options to have things personalized or custom made, the gifts feel really heartfelt and thoughtful. Plus, I love the idea of helping out "the little guy."

Good luck with your holiday shopping!

I do the majority of my Christmas shopping (for the following year) on the day after Christmas because the sales are so phenomenal. I get some specific gifts, but pick up a lot of general ones that can work for more than just one person on my list; this gives me a little flexibility when Christmas finally rolls around. As Christmas gets closer, I evaluate what I've bought and then I'll finish up with specific gifts that I've had in mind for people.

I have started shopping :) And yes, I make a very detailed spreadsheet about exactly what I am going to get each person, how much it costs, color code when I buy stuff and what I have yet to buy, and other ideas for gifts...

This keeps me organized with a budget so I can spend around the same on each person.

I do most of my shopping online because I hateeee malls. Especially at Christmas time. I am probably about halfway done with my list! I just browse different websites and deals and usually find something for everyone!

I've bought some stuff for our nephews, but that's it so far. I usually have a general idea as to what I want to buy someone, but never anything specific.

Wow, girl! I can't imagine tackling your ENTIRE family's Christmas list. You go! I make a detailed list and I am almost done! If I haven't already purchased the gift, I know what I'm getting and just haven't ordered it, yet! I put my immediate family and friends and then a few "ifs" or have a few gifts on reserve for those friends that I may or may not see over the holidays on "the list". I usually don't finish this early, but this year I had more specific ideas. There are all sorts of online sites now, though, that let you make wishlists and store them online. One site I found is wishspot.com I haven't used it much, but you can type an item in and it brings you several website to match that item. Happy Shopping!

I'm starting to really stress about Christmas shopping, too! Especially this year -- as it is with everyone, money is tight... I'm going to need to stretch my funds into some creative, thoughtful presents!

Shopping-wise, I do a lot of Internet pregaming, if you will! I research stuff for certain people, culling ideas and eventually sifting them either into a giant list, itemized for each person, or basically keep a running tally in my head. Good luck! :)

I don't make lists. Wish I did but I'm not that organized. I just keep ideas of things some people might like in my head. I also enjoy doing it this way because I love, love, love going shopping. This way I get to spend more time picking out the perfect gift!

Good luck with your shopping!!!!

I don't have them people to shop for, so it's not a big issue for me. I usually just try to figure out what I want to get the person ahead of time and go to the store to get it. I usually decide before I go what I want to go them.

I do all the shopping for my nieces and nephew from me and my parents. I try to shop for them early, but they add or change their lists several times. I like for my sister to give me a detailed list for the kids. I have already started picking up things that I see in the stores that have caught my eye!

I keep a list of my friends and family along with gift ideas, and when I see something that makes me think of one of my friends, I buy it and save it for a b-day or X-mas, but I'm the worst at keeping surprises, etc. quiet so that's really hard for me to wait months to give someone their present! Anyway, the list works well because it eliminates that mad dash on X-Mas Eve to desperately find something perfect for everyone.

Good luck lovely lady!

Yes, we have started our Christmas shopping and like you we have a TON of people to buy for. We both have very large families and we spend Christmas with all of them. I start out by making a list of everyone we have to buy for. We figure up how much we will have saved for Christmas and divide it by the number of people to come up with our budget for each person. I do a lot of online browsing for ideas. As I get ideas I write them on my list beside the person's name. Once we have bought all the stuff for each person, their name gets checked off with a little note of what was bought (just in case I forget before I wrap it!). I still have issues coming up with stuff for those hard-to-buy-for people but the majority gets covered pretty quickly. And this year all the females are easy because I am giving them all Premier Design jewelry (which I sell).

Good luck with the closet re-organizing and shopping!
