Treat Yo Self

Last night, I spent some time with Mr. RH and left his apartment in a huff.  It wasn't intentional, per se, but I was definitely having some unkind thoughts on the way home.  And when I'm huffy, I get a little sloppy.

I hop into the car, throw my sherpa-like 3 bags of my belongings onto the passenger seat... and then I drive.  As soon as I pull out of the parking lot, I hear the voicemail alert noise on my phone.  No big deal, let me just grab my phone and listen.

So I dig.  And dig. And omfg where is my phone.  It's funny, because I had the thought as I was leaving Mr. RH's apartment that I didn't triple-check to make sure I had my phone...but alas, every 2 minutes on the dot, I hear it chirp.

Took me 14 minutes to get home, approximately.  I kept moving bags from the passenger seat to my lap to the back seat, waiting to see if the "beep" moved and if maybe I had misplaced my phone into the wrong bag.

The purse, which I suspected held the phone, has long had a ripped interior lining on the outside pocket.  The outside pocket is the easiest place to dump a phone... but I never do because goodness knows what happens to things that slip inside the lining.  Ick.

After a very frustrating 14 minutes in the car, I had to use another phone to call my phone (THREE TIMES!) before I found my phone.  Wedged between the passenger seat and the door, where I must've dropped it before Mr. RH and I picked up dinner.

All of this long-windedness to say, basically, holy sh*tballs I need a new purse!!

Every time I post that I need a new bag, everyone tells me I need a Coach bag.  Cause that's what people have and apparently it's the best.

No offense to All The People, but I'm not buying a Coach bag.  They're just expensive and I can't justify a bag more than $100 cause I regularly leave it on the (FILTHY!) floor at work and I just don't care enough for my purses.  They get thrown in and out of cars on the regular... so a fancy bag just won't do.

My current bag is pretty pathetic... it looks very similar to this (very sad) bag I found on Amazon.

Minus the stripey-strap thing.  Mine is just plain solid pale-silver.  Big giant tote with 3 compartments that had me lugging around my Kindle Fire AND Harry Potter hardbacks at the same time with no problem.

I like a nice-sized bag... but with this, I was lugging everything I owned everywhere.  Slightly problematic for my back.

I like leather cause they seem to stay pretty clean for me - and I like at least a small outside pocket to throw my phone and keys in for easy retrieval.

So.  You probably have a favorite bag, right, oh stylish readers?!  Give me your wisdom, I'm desperate.

Favorite bag?  Brand?  Anything?  Please and thank you... it's time for me to treat myself.  Cause I clearly don't do that enough already.

 Happy Friday!!

I just got a really cute purse from Lands End Canvas. It's not cheap, but I treated myself (husband has no clue)http://canvas.landsend.com/pp/womens-speedy-satchel~244418_-1.html
I also find really cute, affordable purses at TJ Maxx & Marshalls. I have many Kate Spade's, MK & other name brands that I have found there for under $100.

I love Tignanello bags which are admittedly above your $100 budget, but I can always find them at Marshalls for around $50.

I'm a Coach purse gal myself, but I also like Fossil's Key-Per totes/shoppers.

If you catch them on sale at a major department store [usually I get mine at Dillard's], I can get one for about $65.

I love Jessica Simpson's line of purses. You can usally find them at a discounted price at a TJ Maxx or Marshall's. Her bags are legit durable and I rotate several through out the year that I've had 4 years or more.

you need to get a longchamp bag. they are so lightweight and they were all over Paris when we visited I saw Kate Middleton carrying one the other day in the news! They are the nylon ones with leather handles you can find and nordstrom or other places.

He Jessica Simpson bags at Dillards are pretty cute ... or if you want to invest in a great bag that doesn't ever die, buy a Tano shopper bag. It's on the more expensive side of $150, but I've had once since 2004 and it looks amazing. And I beat the crap out of purses.

Head to TJ Maxx and get a GREAT brand for less than you want to spend! It's win-win!

I agree with whoever said Fossil! I bought one last year (kinda pricey, but I've been carrying it over a year now) and I adore it! It's a cross body and I still fit in everything I need to in it.

I'm a Coach girl, but just have a thing for expensive bags. It's my downfall. That being said, I echo what others said about heading to TJ Maxx. They have some great bags at good discounts.

ok, so... yes. this one is a splurge, but oh my, it's been SO durable and lovely and fabulous (and it's vegan friendly... which I'm not, but I still love it!). Check it out - http://www.crystalynkae.com/collections/laptop/products/metier-tote - personally, this is the style I adore. It's been with me for three years now and I swear it looks like it did the day I got it (the ale color, mimicking lovely leather, which it is not). Seriously, I adore this bag. I think the other styles would be lovely as well, but this is the one I can't live without. Good luck on your hunt!

Do you have an "upscale" consignment shop around you? I get all of my Coach and Kate Spade bags there for a fraction of the cost-seriously, I've gotten bags for as low as $20.

I've also found a bunch of cute things on etsy as well.

the one thing I do spend money on besides shoes is purses. I have a fossil tote that I paid about $100 for, but I've had it for 32 years and it still looks brand new. And the lining doesn't rip.

Sometimes you can catch a good sale on them at Macy's or Dillards, though. :)

Good luck!
