Fashion Face-Off: Americana Edition

First of all, thanks for all the "constructive" comments on yesterday's post.  While I can understand how I seem ungrateful and like a picky brat... that cupcake carrier is so big you have to remove a shelf to fit it in my fridge.  My very large, suburban fridge.  Which I anticipate being larger than Mr. RH and I's first fridge once we move in together.

I think Betsy had the most constructive comment of the day and I liked it.  That being said, the carrier has to go.  It's caused too much drama in my head.

While I understand that Mr. RH's feelings could be hurt.... would he really want me to keep something that I knew I didn't want?  Am I in a relationship where I can't say if I'm unhappy with something, even if it is a gift?

Just sayin.... if you're looking for a Stepford Wife, I'm not her.

----------------------------------

A week or two ago, Express sent out an email at 7pm or so announcing that they were having a crazy overnight sale.

Despite my ho-hum disinterest in Express, part of me was intrigued.  They have some amazing basics and staple pieces.

So I forgot about it before bed, but when I woke up at 6 am... Express was on my mind.

And, BAM right there it was, staple trench coat for 50% off.  This on the tails of someone complimenting my (7 year old) black Old Navy trench on its cool "moss" color.  Not cool.

And then... a hot ass jacket.  Just because it was also 50% off.

Enter... hot ass jacket.  I put it on and immediately know that there was a Big Wrong.  Noooooo.  The sleeves are so unbearably tight I could barely take this photo.  Fortunately, I'm going to be in the neighborhood of several Express stores soon so I'm hoping I can size up.

Oh, what's that?  My face in an "outfit" picture?  Why yes it is.  Weird as hell.

Ok, now the tale of two jackets.  First, I present the red.  Hot red trench... unfortunately, it's a bit brighter than I would prefer.  I am more of a crimson-red girl, not that I look good in crimson red.

Yes, I am aware that my roots are showing and no, I'm not casper but he is a dear friend of mine.  BOO!

Next up.... "Sarah-blue".  Cobalt is my color.  Or at least I always assume it is, since most of my college friends refer to this color as "Sarah-blue."
What would happen to the world if I couldn't take a picture with my hands on my hips?  THE WORLD MUST NEVER KNOW.

No seriously, what is wrong with me?

The jackets have a bit more sheen to them than I would love, but they're not exactly shiny.  They definitely repel water, which is good.  My last one was very cotton and not very dry.  Genius!

To recap: Blue vs. Red.

Only you can prevent forest fires.  Or help bloggers dress themselves.  Namely, me.

May the force be with you.

I love the red AND the blue, both bring something different to your look. If I had to choose, I would suggest you wear the red most often. It's a bit more sassy lol.
Have a great day!

I love both of the jackets! I hope you can size up in the 1st one though.

Screw them with the cupcake holder. I highly doubt he cares that you want to return it. After all you are a serial returner. ;)

Red! It's cheerier, blondes look great in red (yes, you) and it says HEY! I'M CONFIDENT.
I too prefer blue tones, but sometimes a girl's gotta break out!

The coats both look really pretty. Its odd how upset everyone is getting over the gifts. I think they did make some good points though. One thing I think they were hoping to make you look past is YOUR feelings. When you love someone, you often put your feelings aside bc you care more about not hurting there's. I agree with Betsy and not to sweat the small stuff.

You are SOOOO FUNNY!!! I like the blue. But that's because Kate Middleton wears a lot of blue and I want to be just like her.

And I want for my blogging friends to be just like her too.
