The Shopaholic Rides Again

First of all, thank you to each and every person who commented on my peanut butter post. I shall probably be road-testing all your favorite nut butters and getting back to you. Clearly this deserves further testing.

-------------------------------------------

I had this weekend off - and I planned to put some work into this here blog.

Instead, I planted approximately 3,242 plants, discovered after 25 years of being a Hoosier that central Indiana has very clay-like soil (who knew?), got my hair highlighted, and cleaned my bedroom 123 times. And yet it's still a disaster.

Long story short... it's Monday - time to fly by the seat of our pants, yet again!

Anyway, I've had a MAJOR shopping impulse lately. Must. get. spring. clothes!

My favorite purchase so far? The Graphic Clouds Knit Wrap Dress from LOFT, which you already saw in my brother's graduation post... but here's a refresher:
No, I didn't wear it with those shoes - I just needed a little boost for the picture and they were on my bedroom floor. Imagine that! Also, I did NOT pay full price for it - I don't think I've ever paid full price for anything from LOFT, except maybe a pair of sandals.

As for my other 2 recent LOFT acquisitions... I'm feeling iffy.

The Crossover Belted Dress is super-cute, in theory. In fact, I think it's pretty cute in the picture on the left.

But this color? Is orange. I'm not really an orange girl. And #2... because it's so orange, that is some serious VPL on the right. Yes, I could wear a thong, but honestly... I'm not feeling it.

However, it is now restocked in navy on the LOFT website.... now that, I could see being perfect. Much more wearable than orange for this girl.

Now, what to say about the Luxe Jersey Crossover Knit Dress.

First off, I love me some Jersey. (Fabric, Housewives, etc.) I love me some gray. So this should be a match made in heaven, right?

Wrong-o, friends. In the picture on the left, you can see how sheer it is. My nude bra looks bright white, yikes!

In my opinion, I look wide in the middle pic. Wider than I am and just sad. Sad dress.

And on the right? That, my friends, I believe, is a fabric wiener. Because nothing says dress perfection like an added appendage.

Opinions needed on the orange dress. Feel free to tell me what you think of the gray one... but it's going back. Boo hiss, possible-perfection in a dress.

-------------------------------------------
In other news, I need to know where you're shopping for spring. There are a few goodies at Target I'm dying to buy, but I'm stumped otherwise. Suggestions, please.

I own the first two dresses as well, haha! I love the wrap/print one! It clings in the right places and drapes nicely over the not-so-nice places :) The orange one, I bought in the olivey green color, which is surprisingly flattering on this Irish girl.

I almost bought the third one...now I am glad I didn't!

Ok, I have the gray dress, and wore it for a while and then had to give it away--it just wasn't working on me no matter how much I wanted it to! Boo hiss. But, love the first two--I totally think you could rock the orange, but, I bet the navy is fab too!

I like the orange dress...I think it looks great on you! I have found a lot of cute dresses at H&M. I know they are not great quality, but for $15-25, what do you expect?! Haha...I haven't found a ton at Target this year, but I haven't looked super hard. I'm TRYING to not spend every single dollar I have, but that's not working so well!!

Have a great Monday, girl!!

xoxo

Today's new goal - use "fabric wiener" in a sentence. haha!

I love the orange on you, but I always feel more comfortable in darker colors. I don't think you could go wrong either way.

I think the orange dress is awesome! I love orange though. Wear it with confidence and I bet you'll turn a few heads! :)

And I agree on that last dress. No, just no.

I love the orange! So fun!

And I could've told ya about the clay. Being in Indiana myself, the clay and limestone kill my garden. ARGH! However, I'd love to see a pic of yours when it's ready!

That orange dress is great - but you're right, I don't know if I have anything I would wear it to.

I'm dying at the fabric wiener concept. I don't see any phantom, uh, appendages, but I know the feeling.

I think someone with your coloring could pull off that orange, and you obviously can work the wrap dress / v-neck a la Middleton. That being said, if you don't feel comfortable in the color you won't sell the dress - I'd get the navy.

i'd probably exchange the orange for the navy color. but that's just my personal taste. i think the orange dress does look really good on you! and the wrap dress is awesome! (and the shoes that don't match- i love (but of course, not with the dress)) ;-)

Jersey is not my friend since I have a few curves in all the wrong places. I need to buy some clothes. I may just make some. We'll see. haha.

I love the orange dress. The color is pretty and it's very spring/summer. I love shopping at Old Navy because they have cute {cheap} sun dresses.
