The Classy Bookshelf

As I have stated a thousand times before... I love me some books in a series. Twilight, Sookie Stackhouse, The Hunger Games, The Shopaholic series... and on and on and on.

Just recently, I read the Big Stone Gap Series by Adriana Trigiani. I loved it.

As some background, Trigiani was actually a graduate of my alma mater, Saint Mary's College. I had heard of her while I was at school and that several of her books were NY Times Bestsellers. Obviously I was excited before I even read them.

This series contains four books: Big Stone Gap, Big Cherry Holler, Milk Glass Moon, and Home to Big Stone Gap.

Each books tells about a little slice of adulthood in Ave Maria's (that's the main character) life. From singlehood to wedded bliss to motherhood, this book felt so very real. I felt like I knew the characters and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next.

I read the whole series in under 2 weeks, so if that's any indication... you should definitely read these books.

The End.

What are YOU reading now?

I love a good series, too! I'm actually reading "Very Valentine" by Trigiani and loving it so far...also appears to be the first in a new series since she just released "Brava, Valentine".

I'm always looking for a good series! Currently I'm reading the House of Hope series by Neta Jackson. It's Christian fiction, and the characters seem so real.

I loved Adriana Trigiani's Very Valentine and Brava, Valentine -- her new series! Definitely recommend picking those up. Very fun stories! I haven't read the Big Stone Gap books but definitely have them on my radar.

Right now I'm making my way through Jessica Anya Blau's Drinking Closer To Home, which is about a seriously dysfunctional family... but is very entertaining!

I read Big Stone Gap a few years ago but had no idea it was part of a series! Maybe I should read the others!

One of my very good friends from college is from Big Stone Gap. From her stories, it sounds like a place that has a lot to tell! I'd love to read these books. I've only heard good things.

Right now I'm reading Lonesome Dove. It's different from my "usual" reads, but I'm really enjoying it. I can't wait to watch the movie when I'm done!
