F21 Flop

Well ladies... all I have to say is that not every frugal fashion find is a hit.

When this lil guy showed up on my front porch, I was drooling with anticipation. Until I opened the bag.

But, in full blogger-disclosure style, I can't show you any wins without showing you the fails, right?

And boy were there fails.

First, I ordered a cute lil turtleneck to wear under blazers and dresses and everything. I ordered a medium cause in the past when I buy a large I am swimming in it.

I just wanted to point out that you can clearly see the underwire in my bra and you could see ribs if any weren't covered in a layer of coke/cookies/carbs.

Fail.

Next up, a sassy blazer, in case my Kohls find wasn't going to cut it.
Besides the fact that it's a rumpled mess... this thing was so flimsy it wouldn't even lay flat. Seriously, it's even more hideous than the picture depicts.

Fail.

Next up, this cute rosette top. I like to wear simple jersey shirts to work so this one is actually a win.

WIN! Haha, you like how I tricked you with thinking everything was a fail? That would be depressing.

Next up, I ordered a black and gray version of a 3/4 sleeve dress. I, however, failed to notice that the dress had pockets. Right in my bulky area (HIPS!). Uh oh.

However... I can't decide. I don't think I hate it.

I mean... I obviously think (in the right pic) that this cut is doing me no favors... but on the left, it doesn't look horrible. Plus... it has pockets for my chapstick!!!

The gray is for bumming around in but I think I could definitely wear the black to work with leggings... and be abiding my the dress code while looking less dorky than usual.
I mean, it was only $13.50... and it's so freakin comfy...

But basically... the point of this post (other than a little shopping validation) is to say: it doesn't matter how skinny you are (or aren't). It doesn't matter how perfect your body is (or isn't). It doesn't matter how much (or little) you spend on clothes...

Sometimes ugly is just plain ugly.

The end.

P.S. Please tell me if my hips look like they could take out a small village in the pocket-ed tunic/dress. Much appreciated.

Happy Tuesday!

Love the gray tunic. I think your right, perfect with leggings! Plus...the fact that the Medium is too tight on you is crazy! Their sizes are so whack.

I think the two dresses at the end are cute! Your hips definitely do not look wide.

Plus, dress + pocket = genius!

it's official. Even clothes with crappy construction look cute on you. But yeah, F21 is not my best friend.

I like the black dress w/pockets. The grey dress has the potential to look sloppy. I find that to be the problem with grey colored clothes.

I recently made two F21 orders and returned 1/2 items from the first and 2/3 from the second. F21 can be so hit or miss.

I don't think the gray 3/4 dress thing with pockets makes you look big. It hangs really nice- I likey!

tunics=maternity clothes....
You have way too cute of a figure to cover it with tent-type clothes...

F21 sizing is seriously whack! You should check out Love21 on the site. Love the stuff so much.

The gray tunic is just ok in my book (though I agree with the others that said you look good in EVERYTHING!)Could you consider having the pockets sewn shut maybe? I think that would make it hang better perhaps.

LOVE the rosette top as well!

The pocket dress is super cute and looks good on you, keep it! Thanks for including links, I might have to steal a few of these finds.

Your hips don't look that big, but I'm not sure I'd call that a dress... more like a long top... But, then again, I don't have your figure.

F21 is always hit or miss!!!

Meanwhile, I got an AWESOME black, sweater type blazer at Old Navy and I adore. Thought of you since I remember you posted about one! Sadly though I can't find it online, I guess it's only in store?

Really like the Rosette top, but the others, not my favs. Good eye for knowing what works on you and doesn't. Not everyone has that same keen sense!!

Forever 21 is tricky! You never know what's going to work out and what's going to be awful!!

I got that first turtleneck short-sleeved top in green and tan and while I'll have to wear a camisole underneath, I thought it was OK. I love the gray and black tunics!

I LOVE the black and gray dresses at the bottom. They are so cute (and cheap!!) and they look great on you. Your hips don't look bit at all. You look super skinny! Seriously!

i think the pockets are adorable, and do NOT make your hips look like any villages are in danger =)

I like the grey sweater dress one :)

I have the same problem with F21. The basic dresses are cute, but seems like they were mislabeled dresses, they are awfully short, more like tunic length
