Paralyzed.

I know I've written about this before... probably a hundred times. But it still plagues me like you cannot imagine.

On my days off, I always have a lot to accomplish.

Today's list?

Call dermatologist. Figure out dental insurance. 3 loads of laundry. Bake apple desserts. Bake something with pumpkin. Figure out dinner. Target run. TJ Maxx run. Check out Old Navy cause somebody mentioned SALE SALE SALES (even though I don't really like Old Navy all that much). Go into work and check references for new hires. Clean my bathroom. It's covered in hairspray. Wash kitchen floor. Vacuum up the blush I spilled on my bedroom floor (a month ago). Water the new grass planted out in the yard (I hate watering with a passion). Relax cause it's my day off.

I could go on but really... nobody cares.

I know this is just an average day's worth of stuff to do. It's not like anything there is particularly complicated.

And yet.

I'm sitting here on the couch, unable to move. Paralyzed with indecision.

I hate this feeling. It makes me feel depressed and cagey.

At work, I can bust through a to-do list in hours and be energized to tackle anything else that comes up along the way. Sometimes.

But as soon as I get home?

I'm a useless pile of sweatpants. (Hey! Sweatpants are useful!)

Anybody else ever feel like this? Like there's so much that you can't even take the first step?

Cause that's my life. Today.

You are always so busy, sounds like you just need a for deal day off where you do nothing. Nothing wrong with that.

I feel like that all the time. There's so much on my to do list that I feel entirely overwhelmed and end up not getting anything done because I don't know where to begin!

I feel like that on my days off and the weekends. I attribute the feeling to being so busy all week with work and meals and errands and getting things done immediately during the week. The weekends are made for relaxing but there always manages to be a huge to-do list by the end of the week. =/ Good luck trying to get it done =)

Totally understand the feeling. I never get anything done on my days off because--it's my day off--I don't want to! And then I don't have the energy to do any of that after work and then it's been two weeks, I have no clean clothes and the dust bunnies are coming to life.

This always happens to me. At work, I'm wonderful with getting things accomplished, but when I get home? I don't want to do a thing. I hope you at least get the fun things in, like baking and shopping!

Wow, hope you feel better soon. I remember a time in graduate school when I fell asleep on my sofa after coming home from my internship and then didn't wake up until the next morning in just enough time to head to class. I agree that it can be very exhausting sometimes.

I feel like that all the time plus I work two jobs so on my days off I'm working my other jobs and traveling. I work roughly 55-60 a week and I NEVER GET ANYTHING ACCOMPLISHED! I might have one day where I'm home in the evening and then I just want to crash!

Good luck! I feel ya on this!

I've been like this all week. There is so much I need to do at home, but when I get off work and get to the house, I just want to sit down and do absolutely nothing. My house is definitely suffering though... Oh well. I'll break out of this funk soon.. right?!

SARAH. I read this post and felt like I was living a recap of my week.

I've been SWAMPED at work...like, staying till 8 every night, checking work email at 6:30 a.m., yadda yadda. And they finally hired someone to help me this week.

So what happened when this new person started? I became useless. Suddenly, I couldn't focus or be productive. I got practically NOTHING done.

How did this happen? Lol. Oh well...it's the weekend, so I have about 48 hours before I have to worry about it again.

For real, I have never been able to put this into words, but I know exactly what you're talking about! You are not alone! I totally feel like this on a weekly basis.
