Does Crap Like This Happen to Other People??

Ok, sometimes I swear I am a magnet for weird, strange things.

Yesterday, I was all excited to start Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin.

(I think I've actually read the book before, but I can't remember because I have consumed so much chick lit that all the stories run together. But I wanted to re-read it anyways. So I bought it on half.com and the story starts here.)

So I am excited. Pull out the book.

Read the first page, but it all feels a little weird.

Realization dawns.

The only Emily Giffin item in my posession?

Is a book jacket.

Anybody up for reading If Love Were Oil, I'd be About a Quart Low by Lewis Grizzard?

Published in 1994, this book has almost 5 stars on Amazon.... perhaps I should read it after all?

I mean... with a cover like that....wait, what am I talking about? I usually only read books with hot pink and yellow covers, duh!

You know.... I am feeling about a quart low of sanity these days...

Does stuff like this only happen to me?

Happy Monday lovelies!

Oh no! That is so awful! I would be furious if that was me! "Love the One You're With" is one of my all-time favorites, but for your sake, I hope you get a full refund back!

Oh my gosh! I wonder if the seller really meant to do that or if it was an accident. Someone deinitely has a little 'splaining to do!

How strange! that has never happened to me but totally sounds like something that would!

Lol...that is craziness!
But I can admit I am the same way and judge a book by it's literal cover. I'll fall for a hot pink, yellow and orange one before a plain boring white one.

I was TOTALLY EXCITED when I saw this in my reader because I was all "FINALLY someone who didn't LOVE this book!" because while it was fine, I did not love it.

You let me down. So, so down.

But then you cheered me right back up! Hilarious! What could that oil book possibly be about..? I'm nervous.

You ABSOLUTELY MUST read this book, Lewis Grizzard was a comedy writer for the Atlanta Journal in the 80s, and is so hilarious! He is hands down my favorite writer of all time. You have stumbled across greatness! haha

Oh my! I hope they refund your money. That is so crazy. At least you get a funny blog post out of it. And I'm totally with you on reading so much chick lit that I don't remember exactly what I've read. I had to start using GoodReads for exactly that reason. Tracking! Yay! Have a great day!

Read it! LG is very funny if you like middle-aged man humor from the 80's (and you will) What a lucky break!
