First Big Girl Purchase

Once upon a time, when I first got my job, I was all excited about my newfound buying power. No longer would I have to wait out unemployment to help fund my lifestyle... I was making the big bucks now.

(Side note: Big bucks? Hahahahahaha I laugh at the thought. More like I'm making some bucks.)

Anyways.

I was all.... "Should I buy a ring or a laptop or a camera?"

I had big(ish) dreams, people.

So... what do you think the first purchase was?

...

Camera?

...

Laptop?

...

Ring?

...

If you guessed any of those... you'd be a wrong.

My first big purchase?

Drumroll please.

Running Shoes.

I know, what a letdown, right?

Unfortunately for me, $100 running shoes for flat-footed girls do NOT grow on trees.

And I want to complain because running shoes are ugly and boring and blah blah blah but.... look at the inside of this shoe!
Cute, right? The color of this particular shoe is "Pink Lemonade." Which almost makes up for the fact that I spent $100 on ugly shoes.

Oh, and one more thing.

This showed up on my front porch last week:
Shiny new laptop for me!

(Although shiny should be past tense. It's all covered up in fingerprints now!)

Happy Thursday everyone!!

It may suck to spend so much on running shoes, but they DO make such a big difference! Congrats on the new laptop! New gadgets are so exciting!

Those running shoes are CUTE! It's been a long time since I've worried about cuteness in a pair of running shoes - alwyas go for comfort instead.

Did you get fitted at a running store? Let us know how they feel when you take 'em out for their first spin :)

I spent almost my entire paycheck buying myself a pair of diamond earrings (I was living at home at the time and my student loans hadn't kicked in yet). They are super teeny tiny, but I wanted a pair of diamonds that I bought for myself. I plan on giving them to my daughter one day :).

It's always fun when you make you're first big purchase! And running shoes are so darn expensive!!

Not ugly running shoes at ALL! Way better looking than MY first pair. I didn't even have a choice of color b/c that's what the sales guy said my feet needed. They were all navy blue and grey. ICK!

There's nothing wrong with these purchases. I could use both of them myself.

Semi-participating in the Couch to 5K business, but pretty much doing it so that I could get away with buying rediculously priced running shoes. They totally count as an accessory. I mean, when I am running, I hope everyone is staring at my awesome shoes - and not the fact that I look rediculous while running.

We definitely have the same running shoes. And they are AMAZING. Seriously. I would live in mine if I could (these days, I sorta do).
