Clearly, I'm a Domestic Goddess

This past Sunday, I realized that I'm quite the domestic goddess in training.

Example 1: the sun, which rarely seems to shine anymore, came streaming through my bedroom window onto the TV I used in college.
Clearly I don't use the TV much anymore. Clearly, I need to learn how to dust... which I did, for several hours. Yuck.

My second domestic-goddess-y thing was cake pops. I had tried them back in August but my technique and my dipping chocolate was all off.

Thanks to the trusty Lis Loves' Cake Pop tutorial, this batch turned out perfectly. If I may say so myself. With a cake pop in my mouth. At 7:08 AM.

And last but not least, I made a kinda-sorta version of chicken Parmesan for dinner. There actually wasn't Parmesan cheese... but whatever. I totally rocked it. And took a pic of the raw chicken for proof that I'm clearly domestic.
Call me if you need any cooking tips. I'll be in the kitchen. (Or not.)
-----------------------------------
On an unrelated note.... on December 15, 2008 (as in - a year and a month ago), I woke up on the coldest day in a loong time in South Bend, Indiana and got into my car to discover one of my tires was low.

I wrote a post about how this one low tire literally turned into a fiasco.

It was during final exams, I was supposed to drive home that week, and on and on.

Since then, this one tire has been giving me trouble. Since the rim of that wheel looked a little scratched, everyone told me that I had somehow damaged the tire. So instead of having it confirmed that I broke the tire, I just keep filling it up when the pressure is low.

So, a year and a month later, I took it to a tire place yesterday. Within 20 minutes, they confirmed that there was a leak from the previous owner and it had come loose - they fixed it up and there was no charge.

That's all it took.

In conclusion - procrastination never pays off. I have spent many cold days standing in the parking lot of the gas station freezing my butt off filling up my tire. And it could have been fixed for free.

This lesson brought to you by an almost domestic goddess.

If you need me today, I'll be at the mall.

I'm almost a domestic goddess, too! And, how funny, I've got tire issues right now, too...but that's cuz I got into a fight with a curb (I'll never blog about that).

Your cake pops look delish! I cannot - for the life of me - get the stupid cake to stay on the stupid sticks. I'll have to try again, I suppose.

Did you find it easier to use the Wilton candies as opposed to the almond bark?? I prefer the almond bark but maybe I need to give the candies another chance.

I wish I were a domestic goddess. I wish my house were clean and that I had the motivation (and energy) to run through the house and pick stuff up at the end of the day. I'm working on it!

You have your domestic goddes mojo going on! Those cake ball pops look so good! That is so funny about your tire (well, not funny) but you know...it was THAT easy and who would've known? All you had to do was ask!

I have no idea what a cake pop is, but it sounds incredible! You are def a domestic goddess...all I can make are sandwiches and pasta. But wow! I want to hear how you made the chicken, I would like to start actually cooking sometime soon. I just bought my first dishes and pans ever last week!

Yes, and too bad about the tire, that totally sucks. I hate being cold with car related things - gas, tires, car wash. Boo.

me and procrastination, we're in a serious relationship and I have no idea to let it go LOL

at least you get points for trying to cook. I gave up since I blew the microwave just for making popcorn a few months ago :p

I had a deflated tire on Sunday- happened at church. On Saturday, my smarter-than-me car had warned me that I had a tire with low pressure. We chose to ignore it. So Sunday, while at church, the tire went totally flat. My church family stepped in and took care of me. Then off to Pep Boys and ... free fix! Wahoo! Amazing how things can be so much easier than we are afraid they will be...

I've had a burst of domestic energy. Maybe it's the subtle influence of everyone around me making resolutions...

Your cake pops look amazing! I am going to have to look at Lis' tutorial again and try it out! I do the same thing with procrastinating (especially with the car) and Hubby gets it done right away and I keep telling myself it really is so much better=) I'm glad they were able to fix it and for free!

Um those cake pops look amaaaaazing! You CLEARLY are domestic :-) Love it.

Also I agree about the procasination thing. I've done this with other areas of my life (a recent car problem too but I won't go into that). It's just not worth waiting.

I bow to your domestic godessness, especially with those cake-on-a-stick things. They are so cute! I just read about a good chicken recipe where you dip a chicken breast in egg yolk and roll it in crushed up french onion stuff (like you put on green bean casserole). I haven't tried it yet, but I'm planning on it.
