Happy Place

Seriously, I think I have a problem. (Not a serious problem.... this is a lighthearted post. Be happy.)

My name is Sarah, and I'm a raging shopaholic.

I woke up today and my first thought was - "I wonder if I could fit in some shopping today. Maybe a quick trip to Hobby Lobby or TJ Maxx."

It's not even that I enjoy buying things - sometimes I just enjoy wandering through a store just looking at stuff.

Although let's be real, I damn well enjoy purchasing things too. My credit card bill is proof of that. Ouch! (Although as a disclaimer I feel that I have to say that I pay my bill in full every month.... which means, according to the news, that I might have to pay a new yearly fee or something like that? BS, I say. Might have to cancel some of my cards if that happens.)

Ok, where was I?

Shopping. I like it. It takes me to my happy place. Which I'm beginning to think is not such a good thing.

How do you find your happy place? For your credit cards sake, I hope it's not at the mall. Like me.

I love to shop. Even window shopping. Target is my nemesis!

I just recently joined a aerobics class that seems to de-stress me and get me happy. After the aerobics part we do 20 minutes of yoga and I'm telling you this is what makes me happy. I feel completely light and happy the rest of the day.

I have the same addiction to shopping that you have...and the same thought process most days as to whether or not I can fit a quick trip to Target, TJ Maxx or Old Navy into my day. LOL.

My other happy place, which fits right in with shopping, is Barnes and Noble. I can get lost in there for hours, and luckily, do not feel the need to buy every book I fall in love with.

Happy Friday!

i might just have to say it is cookie dough, brownies, german chocolate cake...those are at the top of my list. that MIGHT just be worse than a shopping obsession!! haha

Alas, mine is shopping too! But, I think you already know that. Sadly, I do not pay my credit card in full each month. Bad girl. But, my goal is to have it paid off or very close to being paid off a year from now. I have really cut back shopping, but I love it. Going on hiatus is soooo hard!!! Hope you're feeling better=)

I have a major shopping problem, too! The ladies who work at Nordstrom and Forever 21 know me well, which is kind of embarrassing. I'll also take any chance I can get to go to Target. Good for you for keeping your credit card bills paid off!! I'm trying to pay off huge amounts of debt right now and it sucks.

Sarah...a gal after my own heart. I'm at work right now contemplating lunch...which means I'll go to the mall and power shop for an hour instead of eating. :)

Why not, right?

Good girl on paying those CC bills in full...like a few others, I'm tackling the debt demon. Slowly, but surely...

I paid off all of my credit cards and chopped them up. It was a very freeing feeling. I'm impressed that you pay your bill in full each month. Is your dad helping you since you aren't working yet?

You should read Confessions of a Shopaholic. It deals with shopping and the stuff that goes with it and it's a damn fine book. I say that even though I'm a guy and it's chick-lit. In fact, the whole series is great!

My mom got home earlier than me and said, "you get the most packages of anyone I've ever seen, is that why you are always broke??" hahaha

Shopping is my happy place too. I love shopping and have been going through shopping withdrawals the last month since I was rendered immobile by a car accident and unable to shop. But, I only shop with money I have and not with credit. Credit cards are the devil in my opinion. They do nothing but get most people in trouble. Although it sounds like you are one smart credit shopper!

Have no shame....it's in the best of us! I love a day at the mall just as much! I was just thinking today about all the shops I need to hit up this weekend :)

I hear ya. My problems tend to come in the form of extra lattes here & there and stuff for the apartment that I really don't need.
But TJMaxx is SUCH a fun browsing store! :)

Girl... I feel the exact same way. It's so sad sometimes! Like today, I kept thinking about going to Target or TJ's looking for boots. WHY!? LOL.

I’ve definitely started to appreciate just looking and browsing around, rather than buying up everything around me. Don’t get me wrong, I love to make purchases, I’ve just gotten more conservative over the past year with the economy. Sometimes my happy place can be as simple as a lazy day at home with a good movie or book :)

I hope you have a nice weekend!

I have a bad shopping habit too. Sadly it is not for me, my closet can attest to that. It's for my son. So many clothes, shoes, toys, etc.

It's a sad day when you run up your CC bill and you have nothing to personally show for it. :(
