Movie Quote of the Week: Forrest Gump

The movie of this week is Forrest Gump. The movie (and originally, book) is based on a man named Forrest Gump, who has below-average intelligence. He travels through life unaware of the way he is influencing others and teh history of the world around him. While Forrest is portrayed as dumb, I tend to think that the idea of the movie was to portray him as very practical: he understands what is important, and everything else is just details. I have loved this movie since it came out (I was only 14!), and would highly recommend NetFlixing it if you haven't seen it.

Also, I have decided that "Movie" quote of the week is a bit too limiting - I'm going to switch to just a Quote of the Week next week. Sound good? Okay.

And, the quotes:
"Mama always said life was like a box a chocolates, never know what you're gonna get."
"My Mama always said you've got to put the past behind you before you can move on."
And, my favorite: "I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floatin' around accidental-like on a breeze. But I, I think maybe it's both."

If you haven't, go see this movie. It's fantastic.

love,
