What Do You Do?

Today's topic for Blog Every Day in May topic is very interesting - what would your answer be if you were asked the question "what do you do" and the answer couldn't be your job.

In a blogging sense, this is an easy question.  I don't talk about my job directly on the blog, because I need some personal separation of church and state.

So, what do I DO?   Good question.

I would say, in no order of importance, I am a:  shopper, baker, blogger, and beauty-product-hoarder.

The baking started when my mom got a Kitchen-Aid mixer when I was eight years old.  It was white, the most basic model, and it's still alive 19.5 years later.  I can't even believe that!

With that mixer, my mom and I made everything.  Homemade waffles, chocolate chip, press cookies, cupcakes, cakes - most anything that can be made in the mixer, I've made it.

The shopping also started with my mom.  Once I was about 12 or 13, my mom and I used to wake up early on Saturday morning.  Pending chores or other projects, we were always the first to hit the shops.  Target was always first, and things usually took off from there.

As I got older, I started to develop a shopping style of my own -  she had never been to TJ Maxx - and it was one of my favorites.

Things have changed for me and shopping though.  Maybe it's working in retail, or maybe it's because I don't have my favorite shopping companion - but I much prefer online shopping these days.  It's just organized and streamlined in a way that shopping in store isn't.

Blogging and I have had a tenuous relationship.  It's been so, SO long since I decided I wanted to start a blog.  I had been reading blogs for about two years at that point, and I could NOT decide if I had anything that I really wanted to say.

So I picked out a name.... and then decided against it.  However, I kept the original site URL, hence why it doesn't match my blog title.

My blog has had several looks over the years, more than I even have evidence of.  My favorite designs have all been designed by Lindsey of Sweet Simplicity

I keep thinking that maybe it's time for a re-design - since the last time I had one was.... a while ago, anyways.

The Original.  Cringe!

I still love this design.  So girly!

So, what do I do?

It's a really good question, and I definitely do not have all the answers.  Or even half of them.

To be continued...

Found you through the link-up! I also LOVE my Kitchen Aid mixer. My mom got me a stainless steel mixer right before I moved into my first apartment and it is still my most used kitchen appliance. I love it so much that I was sad that when I was registering for my wedding, I already had one. The hot pink one came out right before then and I wanted that one, too!
