Last Friday, for the first time in 245 months, the sun shined in Indiana.
It. was. bananas.
Obviously I had to go outside and check out the madness.
Under an inch of ice was a perfect six or seven inches of snow. Absolutely perfectly preserved in ice.
In fact, I tromped all through the back yard and I didn't make a single footprint, even though there's an inch of snow on the ground.
In that (horrible) picture I'm standing on about a foot of snow. And I didn't sink an inch. CRAZY.
But the real reason I was so excited was because, under all that dazzling sunlight, it looked like somebody dumped a boatload of glitter on the world.
That picture doesn't nearly do it justice... but oh how the world sparkled.
Aand.... just to cap things off, we got a solid 7 inches of snow on Saturday morning. The weather channel was calling for 1 to 3 inches of flurries. We got 7. Not flurries, serious snowflakes.
Lemmie tell ya... if you've never been in a crazy unplowed mall parking lot on a Saturday... don't do it. It's life or death out there...

And this, my friends, is how you kill a blog. By talking about weather twice in a week's time.
I'll try and do better next time.
How's the snowpocalypse in your neck of the woods??

I love the sparkle - so serene!
Ugh I'm sure you're ready for blue skies and green grass!
I love sparkly, glittery snow! We got 3 inches here in Texas and our world shut down. Ha! We are SO not used to this weather.
Sparkly is good! Being a fellow Hoosier, I can relate. Love the blog!
Glitter snow is my absolute favorite! Like a fairy land or something. LOVE.
Wasn't the snow and ice wild? We were sledding on the driveway and the yard - which are completely flat. It's crazy.
the sparkle is probably THE ONLY thing I miss about the snow. =)
I love when the snow is coming down all sparkly on the world. When the sun comes out it's so pretty! I'll have to post pictures of all the snow we have here. Have a good Monday!
Fellow Hoosier here, too! My guess is that you live somewhere in the middle or south part of the state, though. Here up north, all we got was endless snow.
The glittery snow on top of the ice is so pretty! Enjoy it while it lasts!
All I could think if when I saw your glittering snow was Edward Cullen. Obvs, I might need to put down the teenage vampire dramas.
Oh how I miss those days when the snow just sparkles. I'm originally from Michigan, so I have lots of adventures in the sparkly snow. In Maryland? Notsomuch. Once it snows, it melts not long after. Or it sits for days on end collecting dirt, pollution, and exhaust. Meaning it's black.
Thanks for adding some *sparkle* to my day! I really needed it!
GLITTER!! Lol.
So beautiful!! I can't get over how much snow you have there! It's insane! I know you have got to be ready for Spring!!
I hope you have a wonderful week!! xoxo
So beautiful! I know exactly how you feel with not seeing sun for a hundred million years - try living somewhere where it gets dark at FOUR IN THE AFTERNOON! Sorry for shouting, but it it's crazy :-) Bring on the summer when it's light until midnight...
Great blog!
Those pictures are beautiful!!!!!! :)
so pretty!
I have NO idea what you are talking about. I'm a South FL girl. This is Greek to me! (But love the pics!)
I posted the most hilarious clip of a "weather report" the other day.

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that...I just have hurricanes instead! Uggghhhh....
Uggh... SO MUCH SNOW!!! I'm ready for winter to be over. I'm glad to know that next weekend when I'm in Indy it'll be in the 40s.
