2010 in Books.

In January of 2010 I joined Goodreads... and it has definitely been one of the best decisions I made this year!

I love looking and seeing what books I read at what times... and how long it took me to read some of them.

In all, I read.... drumroll please....

65 books this year.

(Goodreads says it's 64 cause apparently I forgot one of the Sookie Stackhouse books as I flew through them. I read it, just didn't mark it on Goodreads, oops!)

Wow! That seems like a ton, especially considering that the sum of all those books is 24,447 pages.

Some were great, some were bad... but you've probably seen the reviews of my favorites and least favorites here around the blog.

Because I clearly suck at writing books reviews... here's the quick and dirty reviews guide for you:

MUST READS (Bold and green!)
Excellent Reads (Blue!)
Hated the Plot Reads (Red)
And the ones in black... I clearly don't remember what they were about. Awesome, right?

So, without further ado... my 2010 book list:

I would like to thank the lovely designhermomma for suggesting Jen Lancaster books. They are hilarious and true and I devoured them all.

I would like to thank the gorgeous PinkSass for forcing me to read The Hunger Games trilogy and then for fretting about it because she was nervous I wouldn't like them. I, of course, LOVED them. Definitely set a high benchmark for 2010 books.

I would like to thank the original members of the #TwilightPosse (that would be miss Megan Tree and Pink Sass) along with Rachel for forcing me to read Harry Potter. They sat next to my bed for days and weeks on end because I was so afraid to undertake such a challenge... but holy cow, I loved them. I'm definitely re-reading them this year.

And to all of the other sweet girls who have left me book suggestions on random posts all year long: THANK YOU! I just dove through my inbox and pulled out a ton more of your suggestions - I can't wait to get started on them!

And of course if you've read anything good lately I want to know about it. I'll share the good ones if you do too!

Here's to just as many awesome books in 2011!

Love the shoutouts. I still am so happy that you loved the Hunger Games. Can't wait for the movies.

I felt the same way about HP and I wasn't ready for the longest time and then boom I was and the series is amazing.

I also joined GoodReads this year too and it's great! I just wish I could've read as many books as you did. I read about 30 this year...and I thought that was a lot!

I joined Shelfari and loved it, it's similar to GoodReads.
You read a TON of books this year! I love a good book... nothing better than getting lost in one to escape reality!
One of my favorites this year was The Castaways by Elin Hildebrand. I read Hunger Games as well (except MockingJay, I haven't gotten to it yet). I liked them, but I loved Twilight still much better!

Wow, 65 is very impressive! Reading more is one of my goals for 2011. Now I have the perfect book list when I run out of titles. Happy 2011!

I bought all of the Harry Potter books about a year ago & have yet to read them. I just don't think I'll like anything as much as I loved Twilight! I'm a Twilight super freak. (as well as my sister who got me to read them!) I started reading a book called "Shiver" & it's really good, but I've been so busy, I haven't finished it yet. I'll keep you posted & let you know how it is!

Oh my gosh- I didn't realize you've been reading so much! I'll have to look for your reviews.

Commencement was bad?! I saw the cover and read the description at the bookstore in the summer and it sounded good. Guess I'll stay away now!

I also love Jen Lancaster <3

Wow, way to go! It is ridiculous how excited I get about hearing about other people that enjoy reading as much as I do!!

I'm impressed with your reading Girl! That's a ton. I read about 2 books a year. Now that I have a new job, I'll keep my nose in more books.

That's a heck of a lot of books!!

I love reading the Mary Kay Andrews books. She wrote other under her "real" name, Kathy Hogan Trocheck. Not quite like the MKA books, but pretty good.

Promise not to judge me?

Because I'm already pretty disappointed with myself.

I didn't read a single book in 2010.

I mean, unless you count the two books I read to Addie every night.

(That's just supposed to make you feel guilty in case you were judging me.)

LIES! I read three books. Maybe four. All on airplanes.

So I'm not a total failure.

wow. that's a lot of books! I'm so glad y'all all babble on about books on Twitter because it's made me excited to get back to reading. I'm stealing some of these books and adding them to my Goodreads (which I'm also so thankful y'all tweeted about!).

Thank you for posting this. I just joined Goodreads. I am adding your must reads to my 2011 list (minus Harry Potter...sorry I just can't)

If I come across any good books in 2011 I will let you know!

I loved the Jessica Darling series, but read the 5th book. I hated Eat, Pray, Love though.

Right now I'm reading the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series and some Candice Bushnell. I liked One Fifth Avenue. Four Blondes was okay. Couldn't get through Lipstick Jungle. Currently reading Trading Up :)

Wow -- you had an awesome year in books! Megan McCafferty's books are my absolute favorite... can't get enough Marcus Flutie. And I'm glad you enjoyed The Hunger Games series, too -- so addictive!
