T-Minus 3 Days

Kids, life is about to get REAL around here.
As most of you know, I work retail. And as we all know, Friday is the Holy Ultimate Retail Day also known as Black Friday.

On Sunday, I worked until 3 am getting my store cleaned and prepped and winter-ized. And bedazzled with more glitter than a 7th grade mixer.

I spent all of yesterday recovering and grocery shopping.

I was sure that the only thing that was going to cure me of sleep deprivation was a big carton of Pumpkin Ice Cream.

News flash: stores probably sold out of pumpkin ice cream somewhere before Halloween.

Sad face.

Cherry Vanilla ice cream is not a good substitute for Pumpkin. Truth.

So if you don't hear from me... hang in there.

I'm probably just sleep-training myself so that I can work till midnight on Wednesday and still be awake and at work at 3:30 am on Friday.

Hold me. Who thought this was a good idea, anyways?

Pumpkin Ice Cream is in full stock here in DC. And you HAVE to try the Apple Pie Ice Cream from Edys/Breyers. It is like heaven!!!

I loved working on Black Friday! It was hilarious watching all the crazed woman go after toys and electronics that are a mere $5 cheaper than regular price. SO fun to watch.

Make sure to grab a Peppermint Mocha and enjoy the ride of Black Friday. And if you need a December ice-cream supplement, try 31 Baskin Robbins Winter White Chocolate. It is to die for! Seriously!!

Good luck! I don't miss the days of being at work at four am on Black Friday at all. Now I sleep, while the hubs leaves at 3 am to get to work...

Please don't kill me, but I'm going to be honest for a second: I miss working retail sometimes. And, you know, I really miss working retail on Black Fridays!

It was chaotic, scary, crazy and insane. During the years I worked first at a craft store (Michael's, if you have one nearby?) and then Borders, I often wanted to run away screaming. But there was something fun and fascinating about working on Black Friday because you knew it was going to be insane, and my coworkers would all bring delicious Thanksgiving desserts and leftovers, we'd chow down and commiserate...

Ah, the good ol' days.

But in all sincerity, good luck on Friday -- and have a great Thanksgiving!

You wouldn't have these problems if you got a real job.

I can't believe how early some stores open on black friday! I don't go shopping very early (if i go at all), but my aunt treats it like a sporting event.
