If you follow me on twitter, we probably have already had the following discussion about the Grey's Anatomy finale last night:
"ZOMGGGGGGGGG"
"Holy crap."
"I may never sleep from the stress of it all."
"NOOOO Bailey!!!"
And on and on and on.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, the Grey's Anatomy season finale last night may be one of the best season finales OF ALL TIME.
Within the first 10 minutes, a major character was shot. A minor character was dead. And on and on it went for - oh - two hours.
Twitter seemed to sigh a collective sigh of relief that there were no big "cliffhangers" as the finale... and maybe I'm psycho-analyzing, but I think there were a few!
First off, is Alex going to die? He lost a LOT of blood. Even though it seems like he's doing ok... yeah, he just might die. And did it break anybody else's heart that he saw Izzy as he was fading out of consciousness??
And Meredith's pregnancy.... so, she said she was having a miscarriage - but how the heck does she know that?? Bleeding during pregnancy isn't all that uncommon.... and the way they show her tossing her positive pee stick made me feel like she's going to have an abortion and not tell Derek. Because there's a lot of healing that needs to happen (to Derek and tons of other characters), I feel like she thinks now is not the right time. I dunno - I just got a weird vibe in my stomach.
Honestly, I can't even remember the rest of what I wanted to say.
Except this:
Grey's Anatomy - that was the best episode you've ever had. Quite possibly, one of the best season finale's ever.
Welcome back.
(And yes, I'm forgiving you for making Izzie resuscitate a deer.)
Were you watching last night??

I watched.... and I was going crazy! I had planned on dvr-ing it, but once it started, I HAD to watch! It was crazy!!! Loved it, though.
Wow - I didn't even notice 2 hours go by, it was soooo intense and good!!! I agree that this has to be one of the best season finales I've 'ever' watched - Brothers and Sisters was also great this season, but I have to say that Grey's Anatomy may even win over B&S as the most intense! I was literally on the edge of my seat the whole show!

I am completely rethinking giving up on Grey's after all the talk of the finale last night! I think right around the time Izzy went nutso I said bye bye!
I was watching RHONY and one of my tweet made it onto BRAVO. Can you believe it? I can't. I screamed outloud!
I haven't watched Grey's continuously. I've watched it on and off, but I certainly haven't watched in the last two seasons. After seeing twitter last night, I am so curious about what all happened! This definitely caught me up to speed a little bit.
Oh, and I am a huge fan of B&S, and that finale was so sad!!!
I laughed out loud at the deer comment - because that is the season (and reason) I stopped watching!
OMG I was absolutely DYING the entire time. And by dying I mean that I was screaming at my tv with my neighbors probably thinking that someone was murdered haha.
I was freaking out the whole time! It was so intense but probably the best episode! I totally forgot about that episode with Izzy and the deer!
I totally agree - best episode of the series.
Wasn't there a cliffhanger about the shooter or Weber dying? I don't remember them tying that part up.. we just heard the shot and then saw all the SWAT team guys go in.
I stayed off the internet until I had a chance to watch it last night. Wow! The entire time I was semi-yelling at the TV, gasping, and on the verge of a panic attack. My boyfriend even watched it and was like "wow that was like a movie and not the normal Greys Anatomy" lol. I agree, that was their BEST episode EVER.
Jessica, Weber's fine. We heard the shot, it cut away, and then we saw him again. The cop he'd been trying to convince to let him in shook his hand.
BUT. MY GRIPE, and I feel like this is IMPORTANT, is WTH didn't the SWAT guy who shot the shooter in the first time immobilize him? I know, I know, the shooter had to get to the OR for the most intense part, but then I feel like the SWAT guy saving Little Grey was inappropriately worked into the storyline. Seriously, there's no reason the SWAT guy didn't take him down right then and there.
I think Meredith really probably did have a miscarriage. This is why I think she knew it was a miscarriage, and not more normal bleeding: If you're on your period, you could feel the first few "drops," right? TMI TIME, everyone. But if it's really a miscarriage, I think for a lot of women it happens much more...like a flood. Like, LOTS of blood, whereas regular, safe bleeding would be like not knowing you were bleeding until you went to the restroom. Does that make sense?
Sorry for totally hijacking this comment!
SUCH a good episode. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I was most sad about McBaby - and yes, I have coined it McBaby. In the scene where Meredith said she was miscarrying, right before she said it, April freaked out saying Meredith had been shot, that that was why there was so much blood running down Mere's leg. (yeah, gross...) Meredith was clearly in pain, that's when she finally said she was miscarrying the baby. I'm sure a dr would know exactly what was going on in that moment if it were happening to them. :(
TONS of great questions were asked and answered in this interview with Shonda Rhimes, thought I'd share: http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/05/21/greys-anatomy-season-finale-scoop/
SUCH a good episode! I saw some statuses on facebook that said it was intense and they were so right!
I had a feeling when Mr.Clark showed up at the hospital that something bad was going to happen.
I agree with lawschoolwife about the SWAT not shooting Mr.Clark more. Just seemed like a little too fake for me!
If I was Bailey when he had the gun pointed at her and she stammering out her answer, I would have been pissing my pants in fear!!
Can you believe I've never even seen a single episode?!
I used to watch this show - and after all the hype of last night, I think I might have to fire up some online episodes and get caught up!
Last night was hands down my favorite episode ever! So much happened and when Derek got shot, I screamed and cried for a few minutes until I saw he was alright. I cannot wait until September!
Have a great weekend! xoxo.
I didn't watch the finale last night because I was 6 episodes behind. I decided to watch them tonight. Yea, that's right. SIX episodes, PLUS the 2-hour finale. I think I had at least 6 heart attacks. OMG that was the best finale ever. I honestly couldn't have expected anything better!
It was SUCH a crazy episode! My poor little heart wouldn't stop racing. I just couldn't sit still at all! Had to snuggle my puppy to get me through it!
I don't watch Grey's but I love you squealing around in twitter. so cute! I get like that with my favorite shows :)
I gave up back in February when they g=had the episode that went back in time to the 70's....that was the end of Grey's for me....UNTIL I saw all the twitter comments on Thursday. So I watched it and got caught up yesterday. It really was intense and great, but I agree with the person above who commented on the swat guy. There is NO way they would have just left him on the floor, to get back up so he could kill more people. That really bothered me. I get that a shooter could come into a hospital and shoot lots of people. But the Seattle SWAT team may have been the worst SWAT team in the history of tv. I can only suspend my belief but so much.
