The Jessica Darling Series

It's no secret that I love books. I love love to read. I think it's a great way to unwind and I read every single solitary night before bed.

That being said, I enjoy a nice, long relationship with books. In my opinion, there is no such thing as a series or book too long.

Shopaholic series
? Loved it.

Sweet Valley High series (granted, when I was 10 years old)? Loved it.

Basically, I love me a series.

So when I saw the Jessica Darling series on one of my favorite book blogs, I knew I had to get it.

The series consists of five books by Megan McCafferty:

Sloppy Firsts
Second Helpings
Charmed Thirds
Fourth Comings
Perfect Fifths

The books tell the story of a high school student who eventually grows into a 20-something career girl.

The first 2 books are excellent - I probably read them in a weekend.

After that, like all series, the books are not quite as funny and charming as the first two - but I was still on the edge of my seat to find out what happened next.

All complaints aside - I had a lot of fun reading these books and it's a lovely series for somebody who enjoys reading about a love story from start to finish - and all the steps in between.

Have you read any good books lately?

I have a similar style with my books. I recently picked up the book Fly Me to the Moon by Alyson Noel - Really good....And I'm hoping you've read the Emily Giffin books? Those are amazing too.

I've picked these books up so many times, I really need to read them!
Lately I have been reading authors like Kristin Hannah and Jodi PIcoult. Very thought provoking! I'm craving some chick lit though... there are some great releases in 2010! :)

I love a good book! You should pick up Bitter is the New Black by Jen Lancaster, she writes memoirs & is the most hysterical writer I've ever come across!

Check out The Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts. There are 2 of the series out right now. It is an easy read. It is about 4 friends that run a wedding business.

I am also a series-holic. I just put these books on my must read list, I am dwindling with what I have, so thanks for the help! =] Lately, I've been reading Jodi Picoult and stuff for school, that's it! Hah. Oh by the way, hi, I'm Haley.. I've been reading for a few months, but up until last week, every single time I came to your blog, it froze my computer so I couldn't comment. Hm. It works now though. =]

I used to love Sweet Valley High; I even had the board game! I enjoy reading as well, and currently I'm on book 3 of the Twilight Series. I also like Christian fiction, and a great series is the Yada Yada Prayer Group by Neta Jackson.

I love hearing about new books, I'm writing those down to read next! I agree with Kelly Marie - I just finished Bitter is the New Black, and it was hilarious! I read the whole thing in an entire night, and I just bought Bright Lights Big Ass. Would def recommend!

I'll have to check these out...I am always looking for a new series to read. Oh and I LOVED Sweet Valley High! And before that, it was The Babysitter's Club!

I'm a series-aholic too and agree that you really need to read Nora Roberts' bride quartet. Soooo good!

It's like you read my mind! I'm looking for book recs too. I'm not really a series fan, although I used to read a lot of Babysitter's Club and Sweet Valley. I've only read up to the 3rd book of the Jessica Darling series and I agree, the first two books are much better!

I love book series! Especially when I really like a book. I always want to know what happens to them after the book ends.

Oh my gosh, the Jessica Darling books are my absolute favorites! And too funny, because I totally convinced Jessica to read them! LOL. She wasn't sold at first, but I made her push through... and I'm so glad you liked them, too! Marcus is definitely one of my top literary crushes of all time. If not the literary crush.

I'm always reading a slew of books, but at the top of my heap right now is Garth Stein's Raven Stole The Moon, Elizabeth Eulberg's The Lonely Hearts Club and Pam Jenoff's Almost Home.

I have never heard of these, but I need to check them out! I love books that are series. Sweet Valley books were the best. Have you read the Sookie Stackhouse books? There are like 9 of them.

I haaaaaaaated the fifth book. Such a lame ending to what was an otherwise enjoyable series!

I have a soft spot for book series too. Right now, I'm obsessed with the Sookie Stackhouse series. LOVE it. Only problem? The author is still writing them so sometimes you have to wait a year...gulp...for the next one to come out.

Oh, series. They just make my heart sing! I love meeting a character and watching them progress over multiple volumes.

Currently, I'm reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon - AMAZING. Time travel, love, history all wrapped up in really good writing.
