Mmm.... Apple Pie Breakfast

For some reason, most of the people I interact with on a daily basis (in the real world, not the internet world), don't eat breakfast. I've given the "you should eat breakfast! it's the correct way to start your day" speech at least several dozen times.

But it doesn't matter cause apparently all my friends have rocks for brains. Or something.

But I started making a breakfast a while back that is seriously delicious, very satisfying, and (I think hope) is not too bad for you.

I call it Apple Pie Breakfast.

First, make a cup of oatmeal (or a lil less). I don't care if it's quick or regular, just make it.

Then I chop up an apple in my food processor. Or chop it up with a knife if that's all I've got.

And then when the oatmeal is almost finished, I dump in the chopped up apple. Stir.

Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar to taste.

BOOM! Apple Pie for Breakfast.
(Side note: oatmeal is not particularly appetizing or photograph-able. Especially when overcooked with too much liquid, such was the case this morning.)

In other unrelated ramblings... I need some TJ Maxx in my life. Today.

Happy Friday!

That's a great recipe! I'll have to try it sometime, especially since I'm a big fan of an oatmeal breakfast for nutritional value but not for the necessarily taste :P

LC always buys the variety Quaker oatmeal at Costco. I love the apples and cinnamon one. Yum Yum. Although, fresh apples like your recipe would be MUCH better;)

I used to make something similar! But I made the oatmeal in the microwave (at work) and added a touch of brown sugar and cinnamon to it. Delicious!

I really do need to start eating breakfast. I have a terrible habit of not eating all day and then having a too big dinner.

Watch out, Martha!!

And yeah, the no breakfast thing - I used to be like that too, but then I realized I was voluntarily forgoing an opportunity to eat. So that stopped.

However, oatmeal is disgusting. I'm not even sorry to say that. :)

I"ve never understood it when people don't eat breakfast! Seems like most of my "real life" friends don't either!

I'm terrible about making breakfast, mostly because I wake up and leave myself barely enough time to brush my teeth and get out the door.

Although, I often have chocolate milk and dry cereal at my desk. Does that count?????

I do this same exact thing! It's either apple cinnamon oatmeal or Fiber One cereal for me in the morning. If I skip breakfast by 10 a.m. I swear I'm going to die!

Yum. Sounds way better than "apple" oatmeal in the packages.

Also, I love the usage of the word "BOOM." :D (I'm nuts. Lol.)
