Biggest Loser

So, this is the first season I've ever really watched The Biggest Loser intently. For some reason, I never really got into it.

But this season I fell for 2 of the characters: Abby and Allen. Both of them were kind and encouraging and I just fell in love with them. They were amazing, kind people.

But of course they both got eliminated (I cried both times) and so there are 4 remaining contestants: Rudy, Danny, Liz, and Amanda.

So here are my observations/opinions...

Rudy: The way he's coming across on camera, in my opinion, in the past.. maybe 4 episodes is that he's in it for the money. I mean, I'm happy that he's losing weight and all that... but I just see this hunger for the wrong prize. I mean, everybody would love a suitcase full of money... but aren't you thrilled to have your life back? Before I started noticing that, I really liked Rudy... he seems like a sweet guy with a cute family.

Danny: He's a great guy - kindhearted and fun-loving. However. His time at home has me pretty livid. He lost 59 pounds in 60 days. I know that, in the beginning, contestants lose weight at a probably unhealthy rate... but after a couple of months on the ranch, he should NOT be able to lose weight that quickly. In my mind, there is probably either starvation or foul play with laxatives or some other weight-loss aid - and I have reasoning to back it up. In last week's episode, where the contestants ran the marathon, he was literally gray and ashen for the majority of the race. I thought FOR SURE he was going to pass out at any second. In fact, if you rewatch the episode there are 2 instances where you can see an EMT cross the screen right next to him - I guess the producers thought he wasn't doing too hot either. Though I'm happy for Danny that he's doing so well - I am literally afraid for his heart. Obesity takes a huge toll on the heart.. but I think that unhealthy weight loss might take an even greater toll.

Liz: I am so happy for Liz. She has definitely worked hard and conquered some of her fears to put herself first and lose the weight. That being said... I'm a little meh about her. She made some comments earlier in the season about how she was a Southern woman with a helluva lot of determination and it just kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I like Liz and I'm happy for her... but kinda ambivalent. Sorry Liz.

Amanda: She reminds me SO MUCH of some girls I know - not in the fact that she was heavy but in the way she didn't believe in herself. SO many girls I know believe that they're not strong enough or tough enough to withstand any kind of crappy situation - but I just LOVE how Amanda has grown up during this season. I just get goosebumps thinking about how this show has really truly already changed her life - winning would just be the cherry on top if you know what I mean.

Well I'm sure most of you could care less about The Biggest Loser.... but if you have a prediction - who's going to win? And on the other hand - who do you WANT to win?

I would guess that Danny wins but I kinda wish one of the ladies would win. I'm all about the girl power feminism up in herre.

Happy Tuesday!

I LOVE Biggest Loser! I've watched all seasons but maybe 2 at the beginning. My prediction is that Danny wins. Just cause he's lost so much weight already. I'd love to see Amanda win. She's my fav of the 4 left. I feel the same as you about Liz and Rudy. I liked Rudy a lot at first, but the week Rebekka got voted off, he was so mean out of nowhere to her. And Liz rubbed me the wrong way too at some point. I do like them all, but those 2 annoyed me at some point. :) Anyway! I am so excited for the finale tonight. I just LOVE seeing how everyone did!

I hope Amanda wins- I think I just like her because she's young and seems fun. I loved Abby the best, and definitely cried when she left. The best was when crazy eyes Tracey got kicked off!

This is my first time watching BL through and through. I, too, LOVE Abby and Allen. Hubs and I always cheer-clap-yell at them throughout the shows and I am SO excited to see how they look tonight!

I never even thought about Danny engaging in shady business, even though he lost a hell of a lot of weight. I was shocked, seriously shocked at 1lb/day for a 60lb loss in a month. But now I wonder if he's doing something shady. He strikes me as such a nice guy and such a good, Christian man that I didn't think he'd do anything other than the "right way." Will need to consider this more.

I think that Rudy will win. I think that he is coming off that way because he's so stressed out. He just strikes me as a stressed out, anxious person that tries to hide it. I think that he's somewhat unahppy at home and everything is just getting to him and he doesn't know how to conduct himself. That's just my gut feeling, anyways!

This is the first time I have paid attention to the Biggest Loser and I feel the same way about the last 4. Except I never really thought about how Danny lost all that weight at home...perhaps he is doing it the wrong way! I really hope Amanda wins.

Hm.. I hadn't even considered that about Danny. I really hope is doesn't have a problem. That would be so sad. I'm torn on who I want to win. But I would be happy with anybody. Can't wait to watch it tonight!

UM..Abby and Allen are my two faves hands down! As for the remaining contestants...I probably vote for Danny. But here are my opinions:

Rudy- Feel the EXACT SAME WAY. I am so over him. I think he totally in it to win it.

Liz- never been a fan. I like her ok and I'm so glad her marriage is doing better, but she has never been my front runner.

Danny- Probably my fav. I was shocked at how poorly he did in the marathon though, but he does have TERRIBLE knees. And I am no runner, so I have no idea.

Amanda- I like her. She has never been my favorite, but I am so proud of her and I do think she has changed her life. So happy for her.

Go Allen and Abby! I can't wait to see Abby after being home!! I bet she has a boyfriend!

I loved Abby! Her story made me cry. BL is actually the one show that DH and I watch together. I made him watch the first episode last season and he's been hooked ever since. I have to work tonight, so I'll be staying up late to watch the finale.

I'm really not sure who I want to win. I liked Rudy early on in the season. I haven't watched the last few episodes very closely, though. I think once they get to the last couple of episodes, a lot of the contestants get into that 'Ooh.. money' frame of mind.

This is the only season I haven't watched of The Biggest Loser, because I just didn't have time to attach another TV show to my DVR. So you made a great re-cap for me :).

This is the first season that I actually started watching the biggest loser too. I loved Allen and was so sad when he was voted off! With that being said and what who's left, I hope that Danny winds. Rudy rubs me the wrong way.

I don't know who is going to win and I actually think they are all winners for going through the process. I do worry about their health with that quick weight loss but it is medically supervised so I guess they are okay.

Ditto about this is the only season I've watched/fallen in love with. Before, I'd only catch a few episodes here and there. I love this season and completely agree with you about your thoughts about each one. Esp Amanda. I could totally be her friend. :-)
