Puttin' On My Face

I have received numerous questions about my face. Like what the heck I put on it every day before I greet my adoring public walk out the door. Or something like that.

So... without further ado... my face, uncovered. (And also, let it be known... that I am growing as a person. If you had told me a year ago I would be posting my bare, makeup-less face on the internet I would have asked where my million dollar check from the Giant Makeup Company was. This is a big step here people. Exposing myself, flaws and all. For your consumption.)

Step 0: (Unpictured) Wash face and apply lotion.

Step 1: Apply Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer. Liberally.

Step 2: Apply Clinique Perfectly Real Foundation. Concentrate on the red nose area, moving outward.

Step 3: Apply Physicians Formula Pressed Powder, followed by Physicians Formula Bronze Booster.

Step 4: Apply Nars Orgasm Powder Blush. Liberally, please.

Step 5: Apply eyeshadow. I broke my Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow in Champagne as I was taking these pictures. Does this mean I get to buy a new one?

Step 6: Mascara. Right now I'm using L'Oreal Voluminous Full Definition in Black.

Step 7: Smile! You're all finished and ready to get out the door...

In other news I know you don't want to miss: my hair. Consider it colored. Both highlighted and lowlighted, per many people's suggestions.

The left is my "Before," the right is "After." The length is basically unchanged so I can wear it up in some fabulous updo for this weekend's upcoming wedding. I'll have to go back to the salon soon for a nice big cut.

But as for the color... I'm all kinds of meh. Does it look, um, ashier now? Grayish?

It could be how it's styled or the lighting... so I'm going to have to play with it some more this week.

All I can say is... thank goodness my stylist said she applied the lowlights "with a light hand." A heavy hand may have freaked me the hell out.

Opinions? Do you think I'm a little too tied to my peroxide-dyed roots?

I hope you all enjoyed my makeup routine... cause it took me waay too long to put together. And forced me to put on my face at 9 PM at night. You're welcome.

Also, Happy Tuesday!

And P.S. If you are interested in hearing how the September Shredders are doing... come on over. Level 3 started yesterday and I basically can't move. It hurts.

Great post. It's been years since I've used Clinique foundation. I may have to give it a try. I have very similar skintone as yours.

Loved the post! :) One question: What lotion do you use for your face? I usually change lotions in the winter-to something more thick and mousturizing- any suggestions?!

Great question Whitney!!

I actually use a lotion that, of course, I can only find online. I buy it at Drugstore.com (here: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=161741&catid=10401).

I posted all about it here: http://inmyblondelife.blogspot.com/2008/05/friday-favorite-my-favorite-moisturizer.html

It's not the right lotion for everyone... but I've been using it for about 3 years and I don't know if I'll ever switch - now that my skin is "used" to how thick it is... it's perfect (for me)!

Love this post...thanks for sharing! I absolutely love the concealer! Best purchase ever! I don't wear foundation-type makeup...I might give it a whirl.

As for blush, I use Glee by Bare Escentuals...but I LOVE the color of the Nars Orgasm. Gotta get it!! Would you say it's a pretty universal color? I'm medium skin toned with brown hair.

How did you take those pictures of yourself while putting on makeup?? When I try to take pictures of myself, I usually cut off half of my head and that's without doing something at the same time! I'm impressed.

The hair looks great!
